Hey guys, I've been lurking around here for about, ohhh... one and a half years now. Name's Kahlis. I just purchased a BR on Saturday, and get it in my hands on wednesday. What sleepless nights!! This will be my first "two-wheeled motorized vehicle" ever. OTD was a little high, 6.5k, but that included 5 years of warrenty, and a helmet, too. I started out wanting the LittleRuck, but 35-40mph wasn't going to cut it for the things I needed to do. (I want to get one of those later so I can have both.) Anyway, once I heard that Honda wasn't making the BR anymore for 07 I decided to run over to my Dealer and ask them to get me one. And tada, here we are.
A Question: I've noticed people do a lot more Modding for the Ruck than they do the BR. Any reason? Is it possible to do things like wheelbase extenders, under-lights, bigger tires, and things of that nature?
It's good to be here! -Kahlis

I think the reason is that there's more available to the little guy, because it's been out longer, and it just exudes that "make me your own" attitude. Glad to hear you speak up.

One-Day Rider Review.
Okay, so I picked up the bike today around 3pm, nervous and as excited as ever. I had small crowd on my way out of the dealership, all wanting to see, hear, touch and smell the Big Ruckus (yeah, smell.) Anyway, so in one day I've riden it on paved, gravel, offroad, and wet. And this Ruck is a beauty on all of them. As some others have said it has a drop off in accelleration from the first twist, for about a second or two, but it then picks up like a bat out of hell. It corners well, and does great in grassy ares, dirt, and slight mud. Gravel. It's pretty steady, but I was only willing to take it to about 5-10 mph. One of my supervisors at work made the comment "That thing's ugly as sin, but I'd never get off of it if I had one." Which good. It's not supposed to be a 'cute' scoot. Everywhere I parked it, even if it as for just five minutes, I'd have to answer about 20 questions. The passager seat is comfortable (so says my passanger) and things are still very well balanced riding tandum (tandam, Tandem, whatever.) I can see that I'm going to need a windshield first off though, because at 30-35, the wind around here does make a difference in performance. I'm a short guy, about 5'6" 140 pounds, and the seat adjustment comes in real handy. Also, the little cylinder container is great for holding all sorts of little things, my favorite being a camp towel for whiping down the seat after a rain. Overall, I'd have to say that if someone told me I could have any motorad or scooter in the world, I'd still get the BR (and a little Ruck =D) My current list of Mods/Things to do: Windshield Heated Handgrips (I'm going to be winter riding) Winter-tires Paint Job (Not sure on this one, I'm thinking I like the colors now that I see it in person)
Love the Scoot! -Kahlis

I just paid for mine today but I'll have to wait a couple of days to get it. It's an '05 with 1172 miles on it. Bought it from a private seller on eBay for $3K. I'm going to find it hard to sleep too, although that's normal for me. I haven't been on a bike for decades - no really! Now I find out this BR is going to be a cult classic in the US. Good/Bad?? Good as long as we can get parts w/o having to ship from Nippon. I may want to add that windshield and I see somewhere where a guy made a nice looking one for $60 in parts. BTW - need to ship something like a BR? Check out UShip.com where you place a listing for free and the haulers start pinging you with their offers. They all have feedback so that you can check them out. Great service. The eBay shipper link, DAS, wanted $700 to bring it from Modesto to the Tucson area - I'm paying $375 for a secure, blanket wrapped movement. I'll post often with questions and riding experiences - anyone want to meet for a tour of SE AZ?

Gettin' parts shouldn't be much of a problem as it shares it's drivetrain with the Reflex. Hope you like her, and hope that your ebaying experience turns out as pleasant as can be. ;D Keep us posted.
