:-[After searching in my area for a 2005 with no luck, I started thinking the Cycletrader ads might be my only relief. I was prepared to drive to Atlanta or Houston if necessary for the right deal. Found one just north of Dallas but that's a long way from Northwest Florida. As luck would have it, a 2005 showed up in our local paper yesterday. I went to look and ride after work and was I surprised. Here's this poor Big Ruckus in a garage covered up with clothes, boxes, etc. You could tell it had been at the bottom of the pile for quite a while. The owner's story was that it had been in the garage unridden since last September. In Florida! We uncovered it, blew off some dust and finally got it started. Old gas probably, but it finally fired up and I got on for a test ride. I looked down at the odometer and saw only 576 miles! He had taken it in for its first service and never rode it again. Well, I'm gettin' excited at this point but I contained myself and tried to look disccouraged at the bikes "condition". Off I rode. After about a half mile, the dust was forgotten. Hey, this is a brand new bike!
Back to his house, and we begin to talk. His business keeps him busy, wife in business, kids, yadda, yadda. Finally I ask if he can give a better price than the $3500 he's asking. He asks for an offer, I say $3000. He grabs his chest and his eyes get big. Uhoh, maybe I pushed too far. He might rather burn it than give it away. He finally says he'll come down to 3400 and I frown, looking at the "dirty" new bike. "I guess I can probably scare up 3200" says I. He winces and says 3300. "Shame to lose a deal for 100 bucks, how about we meet in the middle at 3250?" He agreed, we shook hands and I BOUGHT A 2005 YALLER BIG RUCKUS THAT I WANTED FOR ONLY 3250 DOLLARS AND ITS GOT LESS THAN 600 MILES ON IT!!!
Pardon the gloat, I'm just so excited I could bust! Now my little yaller ruckus has a big brother. Hmm, hey Chanito, any accessories for the Big Ruckus?
