Well, I passed the written portion of my motorcycle endorsement yesterday and have a temporary instructional permit, allowing me to ride a cycle with another licensed rider during dayligh hours -- which leads to this..... I'm getting my endorsement so I can get a Big Ruckus! Don't get me wrong, I love Half-Pint, but I need the power/speed that 250cc's can get me on the county/state highways (the idea of trying to carry 15 gallons of yeast slurry in a keg on my LR is terrifying!). Do dealers still sell 2005 models at a cheaper price than the 2006's? Am I a nutjob?

I'm sure if you found a dealer with a 250 in stock you'd get it for cheaper... but I doubt you'll find a new one in stock...

Re: the $3900 BR -- the Mrs. would rather have me buy new, from a local dealer, than buy used from 2500 miles away with NO opportunity to see/inspect/ride/test it out. And, after some thought (about 10 seconds), I concluded she was absolutely correct. I have her blessing to go see the bank tomorrow, and should that go smooth, order a new BR and sell Half-Pint*. . . . . . . * I don't want to sell my Half-Pint though!

Probrewer,
To keep your local dealer honest and as much of your cash as possible in your pockets, here in Los Angeles, California, the '06 Big Ruckus sells for $5,499.00 (US) Out the Door.
If they are way high, maybe it's time for a vacation to the West Coast. ;D

Well, I got the local dealer to go $5300 OTD on an '06, they have an '05 on their availability list, they're going to see if it's still available. If it is, I'm going to try and get them to $5100 on it -- once I have that info, I can take it all to the bank and get rejected.

If you check www.cycletrader.com and do a search you'll be surprised how 2005 BRi you will find at dealers. You also may run up on a couple of low mileage used ones. I know for sure there is a dealer in Maumee, Ohio that advertises lots of 05's on cycletrader.com. If nothing else it will give you an idea what's out there. Remember, advertised price ain't always out the door price. WD
