( I also posted this at total ruckus)
So I got clearance from the misses to get a BR. She was against the LR at first but wamred up to the fun factor and the 100 mpg in a hurry.
Anyways, how much do the dealerships move on the BR? I know that things are pretty tight on the LR as far as the dealer cost goes. Is it the same for the BR? I would think it's not bc it is already over prices compared to other 250cc motorcycles.

What do you guys think of a used 2005? My dealer wants 5000 CDN for it. I was thinking I would offer them 4500 out the door.

How many miles are on the used 2005? The main thing I don't like about an 05 is the yellow but if you don't mind that even $5000 seems like a good price out the door because a new 06 is $6999 and then when you add tax, freight, PDI, etc. you're out the door for about $8g so escaping for $5g seems like a good price as long as it doesn't have more than 10,000kms or so. Of course if they'll take $4500...
Regarding the profit margin, the margin on little Rucks is about $250 and the BR it's probably atleast $500 and could be as high as a grand. $700-$800 seems like a reasonable guess. You might able to get them to drop 1/2 of that on a new bike so you might get up to $400 off. That's a total guess though. I have no idea.

Well the used one has 8000 km's on it. They are saying 5000 plus tax.
The new one my dealer is sayinf was 7199 (higher than retail).... on sale for 6500 plus fright, pdi of 200... so really 6700 plus tax!
Ouch.
I'm thinking I am gonna go for the 2005. The yellow doesn't bug me much.

I sent an offer in for the used BR at 4600 out the door. I would be happy with that price.
I still love the little Ruckus but I am just too big for it. I seriously look like a clown on a tiny tricycle! Plus I do want to go a little faster. I will still take the LR out once in a while, but my fiance is going to ride the LR from now on. She really warmed up to the little ruck!

If you get it for $4600 that would be amazing. Good luck!

I offered 4600 and they came back with 5200. More than I wanted to pay.
Not sure about it now. Still gonna try to get them for 5000 OTD.

Hopefully they don't get upset because of your low ball offers. Decide if you're okay with 5200 and if you aren't then go in there and say 5g flat final offer and if it's no then walk out. They might chase you.

Hopefully they don't get "edit profanity" off and clam up because of your low ball offers. Decide if you're okay with 5200 and if you aren't then go in there and say 5g flat final offer and if it's no then walk out. They might chase you. Yeah, it works out to 4900 plus GST which is decent... It is a 4 hour drive to the dealership too... How far can a big ruckus go on a tank of gas? I wonder if I could drive it home on the trans canada??

I'd drive it home on the Trans-Canada. It's legal and you'll be able to go about 70mph.

$65 is a lot of gas. Driving it sounds like a good call. Are you negotiating the price over the phone?

It is 4 hours away, so I would have to take the bus there then drive it home. Otherwise I could rent a uhaul trailer and drive out there my Pathfinder. WOuld be great to cath a one way ride - maybe I'll try that car pool site.

I'd say $5200 OTD is a pretty nice deal. If you have the money I'd pounce.

I ran the tank on my BR dry at 210 miles which was 70mpg. I carried a 1 gallon gas can to do it. Now I have to do the same thing with my S'Wing and the mileage ain't going to be anywhere near the BR. But that's the price you pay for 50HP and 100mph plus.

I bought my bus ticket and already plated her! 87 dollars for 3 months. 279 - 26 (for good drving record) for the year. Bus leaves at 1:50 am. I get to try to sleep on the bus then take my new toy on a 4 hour cruise tommorow morning! Can't wait!
