I just bought a little Ruckus and a Metro for the wife to tool around and run errands in our town.I've always been a motorcycle rider, but the little Ruck is still loads of fun for me. I like the Big Ruckus a whole bunch, but coming from a motorcyclists background-look what you can buy for less money: Kawasaki KLR650. I have one, and you can get them brand new for about $5000.00.Easily cruises at 65-70 mph with lots of throttle left, and gets 53-56 mpg with a 6.1 gallon gas tank.Come with a luggage rack, fairing and plastic handguards. Also the Suzuki DR650. Yamaha XT225, Suzuki DR200.The new Kawasaki KLX250 street legal dual sport, or a leftover KLR250. These are all dual sports-I'll not go into street bikes because the Big Ruck, I think, comes across as a bike with some off road capability. Of these bikes the best off road is the KLR250 and the KLX250. I put over 10,000 miles on a KLR250, and I commuted on it on the freeways on a 65 mile round trip.I averaged about 65mpg.I bought a 2001 new for about $3600.00. Don't get me wrong-I would love to have a Big Ruckus, and may get one sometime, but I just think they shoul sell for maybe $4000.00-$4400.00, and not $5200.00.

Yeah, Jon, I don't get why you hafta pay so much more for a scooter... I still love the Big Ruckus, but finding one at a low price is nearly impossible, and I've started looking at KLRs, myself. I figure since they've been making them 20 years, I can find one cheap.. Or, worst thing, I can buy one new for less than a new Big Ruckus. Oh, well, if I win the lottery, I can buy both.

I still like the idea that I've heard alot on this forum. A little Ruckus with a bigger engine! If it still looked the same, most cops would still think it was a 50cc.

As long as you weren't flying down the road...
My brother had a friend that put a 400cc four wheeler engine on an old moped, and welded pedals to the side. The cop pulled him doin' about 70...

Got my BR out the door for $5000, you need to find a flexible dlr and really pound on him: paying cash also gives one leverage.
