Does anyone ride their BR on dirt or gravel roads?? It looks like it would be a good dualsport machine.

I've done some gravel and dirt road riding and the stock tires aren't up to it. My zuma will run circles around it. I think it's just a tire problem though , easily fixed if one can find some nobby tires.

Not me! Might be gaelicdog. Found these on Advrider.com. Think the photog was from Va. or D.C. according to the forum. But yeah, it rocks! I was going to buy the Big Ruckus from him but after going to advrider.com, suddenly I wanted a Kawasaki DR650. My wife is going to kill me! Wonderdog ;D

Best action pics yet. I thought I was hot riding through my front yard, messing up the grass.

Come on gang! Look at the pictures closely. The BR is clean. The guy has no dirt on his suit in two pix and the dirt on the middle pix indicates he's been down trying to spin a donut. Not the most dificult trick on wet leaves.. The tires are street tires. These are posed photos and have no baring on offroading. Some photographer has decided it looks offroad and has set up his shots that way but if you plan on trying it with those tires you should plan on being stuck or own your side a good part of the time. Not to say that with the right tires it wouldn't be a formidable competitor. On pavement now it will smoke many sportbikes thru the twisties.

I was going to buy the Big Ruckus from him but after going to advrider.com, suddenly I wanted a Kawasaki DR650. My wife is going to kill me! Wonderdog ;D Do you mean a Suzuki DR650 or a Kawasaki KLR650. I've recently found myself with a longing for that Killer... though it feels kinda treasonous...

Excuse please. I meant the Kawasaki KLR650. I visited the Suzuki DR at the dealer and it just didn't move me. They had lots of them available. Then I went across town when the Kaw dealer finally got a KLR and it was immediate lust! When the subject of price came around, the salesman didn't hesitate. He looked me in the eye and said, "MSRP, everybody wants one and we can't get enough!" Bye. Someone, somewhere will sell theirs at a great price. I'm waiting. I think. Well, I might get a little weak... uhh, maybe. Ohhhh,oh,oh. You know, I might... well, uhhh, gee, darn! I wonder if they still have it. Its red, not green. But I like the green. The red would work. It shouldn't matter, its really going to be nasty most of the time. Well...

I was doin' a lot of lookin' online at the Kaw, the 'Zuki, and Honda's XR650L... and yeah, I think the Kawasaki if for nothing else than it's got a liquid cooled engine and a massive fuel tank.
I looked at a used KLR250, the other day. I'd have bought it if it was at a dealer, but I didn't have enough cash to take it away.

Ahhh, that wonderful Florida sand. Nothing like sugar white soft quartz beach sand in my part of Florida to bog down all four wheels in 95 degree heat and humidity almost as high. Have another beer! Yessir, dig out all those wheels and swear you'll go ahead and buy those split rims! Been there, done that. Also wrapped my Fiat Spyder around a telephone pole demonstrating improper emergency brake use to do a 180 at high speed on sand roads. No longer young and dumb, just dumb! Come to think of it, that really was a lot of fun! And now, looking for Ruckii to ride the woods with the kids! Wonderdog

Ah! the wonders of fooling with the emergency brake on loose sand, as a teenager i dreamed of being a rally driver, incredible good luck and an overworked guardian angel saved me from bodily damage and posible death

I live on a gravel road in a national wildlife refuge and I so I drive gravel all the time, my Big Ruckus feels much more secure than my old Yamaha 650 did, one of the reasons I bought it was that I thought it would do well on my gravel road, so far so good,
