The Expedition is a plush ride... though gas stops suck, especially since most pumps cut off before it finished filling up. They make a good Ruckus hauler if you have a trailer hitch though... unfortunately, being American, by 100K miles the tranny'll go.

Good points... I was inspired to demonstrate the contrasting differences between The biggest Guzzler and my tiny carbon footprint. I shoulda used a Hummer but I couldn't find any.

But 18-25 mpg? They must have changed a lot in the 8 years since ours came out, 'cause it gets 12-15 mpg...

In the long run, the f ord would still cost more than I could ever afford or would want to, as I am a minimalist and believe that excessive consumption is impractical. If I buy another vehicle, It'll be a new Ruckus. ;D

I'm no minimalist, just practical. The Expedition's my brothers, he took over payments from my parents who bought it right before Bush got in the whitehouse, and they both promptly lost their jobs they had for over 20 years.
Personally, I drive a Subaru wagon whenever I have to either haul something or go a great distance or drive through super inclement weather. It gets better gas mileage than a truck and can fit a ton of stuff in it. But as for around town, or if you aren't in a hurry, nothing beats the Ruckus...
Then again, we got our Andy Strapz in the mail from Australia, today... I think I could fit a bunch of crap on the back of the Ruckus, now... I'll hafta upload the pix my bro took, he just stuffed the bag full of pillows and strapped it on the girl.
Wow, this thread just goes all over the place, just like any other thread I reply in.

Sorry to hear about your parent's job losses...
I don't want to be caught up in money worship. I like the basics (Food, Shelter and Fun) Being a single person, allows me to have fewer needs in life than if I was to have a family. Sure, we all need an income to live. I like to take only what I need and a few luxuries like a PC, mp3 player, digital camera, etc, etc...
My Ruck is my only vehicle. I bought it due to my low fixed income and the desire to not rely on our city's transit. I don't like 4 wheeled vehicles, but if I were to obtain a car, I would drive a Subaru Impreza. I'm not dissin your bro's truck. He helped out your folks.
I guess if you need a Truck for work, you just gotta get one.
I can't wait to see the pics of the Andy Strapz. ;D
