You've got be close to the break even point with your pistons...you made a run of 24 and you about 8? left? That means you're 2/3rds sold out...a few more and you've gotta have the project paid for...regardless, there's surely gonna be rewards in heaven for a pioneer like yourself. As soon as you get to the break even point you can get your rolling pin wife off your back and start working on new stuff....heck if you sell one more piston after the break even point, then take your wife out for dinner and keep making comments like "It sure is a good thing I made those pistons so we can afford to dine out like this!" i will be contacting the people at Comp cams, or dyno cams for a set or roller rocker arms and a roller cam Whoa...do we need a special cam to use with roller rocker arms or do you just mean a more radical cam? It seems like a radical cam might outsell your BB pistons because it wouldn't require a complete engine rebuild + boring so more people might be up for doing it. Perhaps we should contact Comp cams and see what kind of a batch size and cost we're looking at and then maybe someone else (maybe me in 2 months...my wife and I are currently finishing up our studies and we both start full time work in January so by late Feb or March we might have some spare cash). Maybe in the new year I'll start up my own website and sell Ruckus goodies like my variator tools and hopefully a few other cooler things including an engine rebuilding/BB install service. Then I'd let you list your pistons on it (for free) and hopefully a few other things like modified heads, stroker cranks and roller rockers eventually and maybe eventually. With lots of cool parts plus some awesome install how-to's and tuning info we may be able to fertilize the Ruckus engine hop-up environment. Right now it seems like the $$$ isn't lacking but a lot of people are scared to do something since the how-to's and tech support isn't really there.

Not really when i started this business of the pistons, i had to pay for the engineering and rights to the pistons (so nobody can go to Wiseco, and say now that the engineering work is done can i get some pistons) for them to forged them, so the first run was really expensive, and the way i got the price was to divide the total by 22 so the piston in Katrina and one for camote (which i never did) were going to be free, problem is i have to sell at least 20 to break even, the reason this seemed to make sense, is that if i order more pistons for selling they will be way cheaper and i could really make money on them, sadly i never got around to do a second order, The four valve piston which share the same forging, would be a lot cheaper, however the guy in France only wants one, so i can not do that either as i need to buy at least 12 now The roller rocker arm does not make more power, is just like higher octane gas, it allows you to make more power by using a wilder cam, that will still behave like a civilized one (if you use a wild cam on a street engine the idle goes to heck, but the roller rocker with the same wild timing will be a lot smoother) of course it reduces friction so there is a gain in fuel economy, but i just suggested this roller rocker arm and cam set-up as a must if we were to do a 12k running engine. Right now my aim is for a safe 10k running ruckus engine, so that is why the intake track mod in the head is my goal And finally congrats on your idea of setting shop, if i can be of any help, i will be more than happy to assist you, and thanks on the offer of allowing me the possibility of advertise my pistons One of my goals when i started Chanito Motorsports was to have some good performance parts make here in North America, instead of just copying Japanese parts, sadly the market was not that crazy about that idea as i was So i welcome your initiative of your fine variator tool and other parts you might make in the future, by the way i still have my design on that multi chambered muffler, maybe you can sell that too

Hmm....I guess for now we just need to proceed with the modified head and wait and see what the future holds. It's too bad there wasn't a bit more demand for those pistons because if you could have sold them out quicker maybe you could have gotten a 2nd run done and then that cheaper price may have really blossomed the market.
Anyways, I don't want to get in over my head but once exams are done this weekend I'll hopefully be able to make one of those variator tools (I'm having a hard time finding the right metal).

I got to wait until after the first of '07 to buy my BB, but I'm planning on it.

I still think you're gonna sell those pistons Chanito...the rumours of a battlescooter big bore have likely put a damper on sales but I think once the details of their kit are actually released you'll find they really aren't comparable. The Battlescooter kit seems like it's going to be an entirely new front have of the case plus of course a piston plus maybe a stroker crank because you wouldn't want to go way over(under?) square with say a 50mm bore and a 44mm stroke. I bet it's gonna be a $1500 swap so it'll have a much more limited target then yours at $280. Right now it's winter and those rumours are flying so people are likely sitting tight but come spring and come a few more details like the price on the Battlescooter kit and your stuff will sell.

I'll tell you right now that I'm 1/2 way to the funds for another BB for my other engine so there's one more gone.

Well, i guess i just will have to wait, hopefully i will sell all of them eventually, it sux, because i though they would sell a lot faster and i could start doing more runs and become a millionare Jokes aside i am convince it is a great product, and it is done by the best people on the market, i doubt anybody could offer any thing as good at twice the price
