Why did you have to ask that now I have to figure it out? The fork kit was quite expensive, but when I think about it my friends spend $800. on mountain bike forks. The fork kit is one of the few mods that I have had to buy parts for, the other is the variator. The handlebar, stem, and footpegs are BMX, and I made the underseat box out of sheet aluminium and pop rivets(the box looks good from a distance just don't get to close it is sort of hack) .

I have been away for a week and I have just noticed that this thread of mine has gotten active. Yes the scoot is a daily rider, I have put 4800 mi on it in the 16 months I have had it.
I did play the safety card when I had to explain the cost of the brakes and fork to my wife. The brakes are so much better than the drums and the fork did help the handling in rough situations. Percentage wise I would have to guess I can stop in less than 50% of the distance of the drums. I think I can go over the handlebars now if I so desired.(haven't tried it but I have done some nose wheelies) I have read that some people could do that with the drums, I was never able to. The brake reservoir was a little awkward to set up but now it looks a little better than in the pictures. I had trouble locating a 10 X 1.25M bolt, and I also had to hack off the old cable brake lever bracket from the throttle.
I went to a digital bicycle computer instead of the stock speedo. The Dio speedo gear gave me a false reading by about 5 mph.
I would love to remove the fenders, but I do ride in the rain. It is hard to avoid in New England. What is the famous quote about the weather here..."If you don't like the weather, wait a minute, it will change".

Where did you get the digital bicycle computer and what does it look like?? It might be a good replacement for me too!

It is the basic Sigma bicycle computer you can find in most any bike shop. It is a little smaller than an Oreo cookie. Stay away from the wireless ones, something in the Ruckus electrical system interferes with the operation and it will not work. I have even had trouble with wireless bicycle computers and some of the new high power LED bicycle lights. To fix the magnet to the wheel I used a piece of heat shrink tubing and shrunk it to a valve cap, then just screwed the cap on. I had to make a spacer out of a chunk of rubber to get the sensor close enough to the valve cap. I like the Sigma computers because they allow you to set the odometer, and they turn on when the wheel turns. Some computers you have to turn on every time you use the bike. This is more annoying than you think it would be, especially if you are trying to track gas mileage.

Where can you buy those 10" wheels? Are they cheaper than the 12" ones that Battlescooter sells?
