Ever since taking my Ruck for a scoot sittin on the plastic, I've wanted to lose the stock seat & frame. With my butt all the way back I can almost completely stretch out my legs and the riding posture resembles that of a chopper. The speed increase is noticeable and with the long chrome shock I didn't bottom out on tonights virgin test ride. I rode a Harley bagger (8years) and really liked the wide cushy seat.(One part that didn't break) . When I saw this Harley cop seat on E Bay I couldn't resist. img.photobucket.com/albums/v112/Phred501/DS3.jpg[/IMG]I just applied some rubber grommets in a few spots and set the seat on and headed out. My eyes were just a few inches over the windshield and I saw 8980rpm and the speedo needle was just past the overheat light. I just wanted to see 40mph more consistently, so I'm pretty happy and very comfy. Now all I need to do is figure out my permanent mounting solution. ;D

Looks comfy. I am digging that horn. I bet it sounds better than the stock "toot toot".

HAHA, I don't know about the horn, but the seat looks pretty cool ;D. Take a picture of yourself on there so we can get an idea of what the riding position is like.

Nice seat, be careful with it at first since moving your center of gravity backwards like that will make the back end more apt to slide out around corners if you drive hard. It'll also wear your rear tire faster but if you're more comfortable then it's worth it. That seat does look really comfortable.

Phred, if you need a good mounting for that seat, look at the TECH link on the battlescooter home page. Look at the plate I used to mount my 'tractor' pan style seat. The plate is 1/4 inch high tinsel aluminum...11 & 1/2 inches by 11 inches. I bought a set of hinge fittings from the ronayres link...about 14 bucks I think. The hinge brackets only act as locators for the plate. All your weight sits directly on the seat tabs...just like the stock seat. Then drill whatever mounting holes you need in the plate to mount your neat seat. Good luck.

The big difference is lowered center of gravity. The scoot handles better with my 220#s down lower even if it is right on top of the back tire.I can corner faster I might wind up getting the longest shock available because bottoming out is more likey with the rider seated @ the rear of the frame but I'm not that far along yet.

I won't be using the stock seat frame as I'm lookin to get er down as close to the ground as possible. However, I may make a monting plate to support the seat. (maybe a triangle of aluminum diamondplate) I got the Harley mount with the seat and it's just ridiculously heavy. A 1/4" steel T probably 6#s or more. The mounting consists of two 5/16" studs towards the back and a single 5/16" tapped hole close to the front. I'm thinkin I'll support the rear of the seat off the rear of the frame tube and the utilize the rear seat frame mount holes for the front nose of the seat. Maybe some springs between the plate and the seat. Probably won't have time till mid July as I'm takin the Goldwing for a 3day weekend and then a 2week road trip starting next weekend.
