We've talked about this before but I can't find the thread and it's driving me nuts. A while back we found that little tach on jegs.com and it's about the same size as our speedos. What are the requirements for a tach to give split second readings? I know it has something to do with being inductive...blah blah blah. What are those blah's. Someone fill me in. I want to get a tach. soon amongst other things but we'll just talk about this for now.

I started a thread in performance ideas under tachometer, you can check it, but is a autometer tach for junior dragsters since it uses the crank signal wich is the same as the ecm uses for timing the answer is instantaneus, but the inductive pick up use in most other tach have to process the signal from the coil so is a little bit behind the actual rpm, i am super happy with it so far

Yeah, Chanito, than you're the one I got the idea from. That's the one I'm looking at, the one used in mini dragsters. You said you can change the face plate too right? How does it look right next to the speedo? Kinda the same? And also, what did you have to do to install it, how hard was the whole process?

Yes that is the one i installed, you can read the installation i did in the section DE-RESTRICTION/PERFORMANCE IDEAS i put it under tach, you can not change the face plate but the tach comes with covers for the light bulb inside the unit, if you put the orange one that comes with it, it will match the color of the speedo, i hook it to the low beams becouse it was the one i asumed it will have the circuit with enough amp capacity to protect the tach, without an inline fuse, but it is a bad idea becouse if i put the high beams i have no tach, however i am to lazy to change it, one day i will hook it to the ign relay. I commented about it also in a post that ruckass did about installing a fuel gauge.
