Okay, so I finally got Keri to ride the Ruckus... I made sure she was dressed safe, put on some gloves, and my helmet (with a toboggan under it, since my head is like 3 times the size of hers), and I told her to grab a jacket... naturally, she grabbed the biggest one sitting out. I took some pix and a video, you can hear me laughing during it. Afterwards, she was like, that was easy. You made it sound like it would be hard... now I wanna ride it to the store and be like, I rode a scooter here! Her in riding gear, looking like a little kid in daddy's clothes. On the parked Ruckus... Taking off on Ryoko. And here's the vid, not great quality, but fun times. G-Walla.com/Ruckus/KeriRuckus.avi

In America, we call 'em toboggans. What? Where are you from? I have never heard a hat called a toboggan before!

Yeah I'm afraid a tobaggen is a sled, a touque is a wool hat.
Toboggan \To*bog"gan\, n. [Corruption of American Indian odabagan a sled.] A kind of sledge made of pliable board, turned up at one or both ends, used for coasting down hills or prepared inclined planes; also, a sleigh or sledge, to be drawn by dogs, or by hand, over soft and deep snow. [Written also tobogan, and tarbogan.]

Haha!! Keri makes the Ruckus look huge! That's funny. I wish Amy, my girlfriend, would ride my ruck. She's too cool for it, though. She has her own scoot, an Aprilia Scarabeo.

So, having never heard this term "Touque" I looked it up, and didn't find it. I found "Toque" which is some kind of a round woman's hat. I don't think my toboggan is a woman's hat... I dunno, I live in the south, on the bible belt, and I'm sure if you don't call it a toboggan, they'll say your bound for Hell around here! Yeah, Keri is like 5'1" or 5'2"...

People really do call them toboggans in the US. We call a sled a sled. She looked so tickled after riding that thing. I hope she gets one of her own someday.

if it's just a wool hat that fits tight to your head, we, in New England call it a "skull cap" or a "Skully" or a "beanie". This should settle this toboggan/toque/skully thing once and for all. In Ct, a toboggan is a long wooden sled with the nose curled up This is a toque. Totally a woman's hat. This is a skully/beanie. any questions?

Beanies you don't roll up, toboggans you do (just like the sled). That's the difference in them. ;D

:Dok. in the south toboggans and beanies are hats. beanies dont roll up. sleds only get used pulled behind a boat. and if it does snow the lids off wheelie bins work rear well as a sled, with a toboggan under your helmet. oh and 2-4s are usually lumber that measures 1.5 by 3 inches and my girlfriend isnt allowed to ride the ruckus until she quits wrecking on my 70's honda 50 little dirtbike thing ;D
