If you ever left you Ruck out in the rain (or hosed the air filter while bathing) you know how detrimental them water molecules are to your engine performance. Hack off a piece of a plastic bag and raid your true-loves Scucchi collection (Single? try the local DOLLAR STORE) for a kick-butt mini shower cap. ;D Got caught in the rain while fishin the local pond this morning and got a good idea for material for my gauuze filter raingaurd. Luckily, kids like to throw cans in the water so I hooked one with my lure, (only catch of the outing) and hacked it up with my trusty pocket tool. I was also fortunate to have a rubber banding dealy on the scoot. Hence, I didn't suck in any water on my way to work. GOD IS AWESOME!! PRAISE HIM!!!

hmmm....I thought they were waterproof. Thx for the headsup. What do you do if it starts to rain when you're out for a ride? Can you attach it right on the carb so it's sheltered?

No water, no air either. Been looking for a something to enclose the filter leaving the bottom open. I wanted to mout the filter next to the carb eliminating the stock tube. But the adater that came with the filter is straight and won't fit. I'll get it better and ya'll will be the first to know.

You can't shorten it somehow? The pic on the BSS site shows a very short tube. Perhaps they changed it.

The one they ship now is straight and hits on the fender or something. I'll get it under the seat, out of the rain or fashion a cover. (been lookin @ chrome exhaust ends ) For now it's hangin on the side and it's a fair weather ride only. I have 2 other bikes if I wanna ride in the rain. I work 2 minutes from my house so I won't suck much water even it a downpour if I get stuck someday. My ruck saves me a ton on short trip gas and vehicle wear & tear. ;D
