The betrayed ruckus seeks revenge That's my whole yard right there. All that wood is from the crate that I've yet to throw away. I should build a fort out of it...

sweet ride, even if it isn't a ruckus. ;D
I like the silver color, looks classy, like a Mercedes.

I like the picture and the way your Ruckus is in the background --- staring jealously at the new girl.
It looks good and like a lot of fun.

It's a '67 sprint. 3 times the cc of the ruckus and only twice the power with half the strokes! How's that for sad? Don't feel bad for the Ruckus, he's still my main form of transportation. The sprint has to go by the ruckus to get out anyways, and we all know that's not going to happen, even with a 50 pound advantage.

Nice. I'm looking at getting a Honda Joker 90cc imported from Japan. Its gonna be quite a hassle but in the end, I'll have a sweet 1 of a kind that really moves. Of course I'm keeping my Ruckus too as its my main transportation and I'm not nearly done modifying it.

There was a Joker in the classified section out here for 2900 us$ a couple of weeks ago. They are cool as hell.
About the restoration...ya, it should be a good time. It runs, albeit very poorly, all the while spewing some oil/gas mixture out the tailpipe (liquid, it coats the area behind the pipe after a minute or so) and needs new tires, seat, speedo. I'm already figuring on a complete engine rebuild. Good thing the parts are cheap as hell and plentiful. The picture is very generous to the scoot, the paint doesn't look near as nice in person.

I heard there were some Jokers in the states. There are definitely none here. I'm going to have to swap parts and things to get it registered here, then swap back. We can't import anything newer than 15 years old here, so I have to play a little Three Card Monty to get it into the country and then registered.
Is it an Italian Vespa or a Indian made one? I have been looking at an Italian Lambretta called a Lamby. Its on pretty much the same shape as yours. asking $1200. I'm gonna hold on it for now.

It's an italian made one. Lamby's are super rare in N. America. They're made in India too, and I think that the Lamby was designed by the Indian company that makes them (based off of the molds and presses that they bought from the Lambretta company). If it's 1200 canadian then I'd say go for it. Scoterbbs has tons of info and I'd send pics/info on the Lamby to them and they'll give you an honest appraisal.
Lambretta's are the 'sport' scooter of the vintage scene. They have a stiffer frame, and go a hell of a lot faster than Vespas. They grew up concurrently with vespas as well. From what I understand though, they need a bit more loving care than a Vespa. But the speed and handling more than make up for it in my book.
That joker out here was registered. You could always post a wanted ad in the Honolulu Advertiser if you want it. 2900 us$ though, kinda steep.

When all is said and done, I'll be paying that much for mine but the nice thing is, I'm able to put that money out over a few months. Gotta buy the "dummy" bike first (an '89 Honda Lead) Then the Joker, then all the registration, broker fees, etc. So I'm able to break up the payments.
I'll post a pic of the Lamby later.

Absolutley right about the Vespa and Lambretta argument. The Vespa is for the gentleman, and the lambretta is for the sporty punk. I will one day own a lambretta too...whether its the remake or a vintage remains to be seen. Nice bike vish. -Ian

I'm already starting to save my pennies for the new lambretta. They're using vintage style indian frames and new piaggio engines. If they can price it for less than 4500, I'll sell my girlfriend if I have to in order to add one to my scooter harem.

Which is around 4200? Man. that thing looks nice, i was thinking about getting a big ruckus, but the appeal is just too much for me. -Ian

Always liked the old Vespa's and Lambretta's. One of the problems I encountered was the cable system that operated the gearbox from twisting the clutch side handgrip. After too much speed shifting in NYC traffic they frayed and it was lots of fun replacing them: that was about 1958. I am looking for a good local deal on the Big Ruckus soon as the weather gets better. My problem is I have too much space and I like machines too much: but it's still fun. I even have an electric bicycle. It's a 1/4 mile walk to get the mail, but having only cows as neighbors is real peaceful. The fence keeps the cows off the lawn most of time, but when they break a fence, as long as it's not raining all they do is eat my wifes veggies in the garden.

If I had the space and resources, I'd be amassing as many odd-ball bikes that I could get my hands on.
