But I finally laid her down... Yeah, I was comin' through the four way stop, turnin' onto the road my apt is on... and aparently, some "edit profanity" in a Silverado decided it was the four way stop-unless-you're-cutting-Josh-off.. My arms pretty soar, but all it's got is some scraped skin... I was waring a long-sleeve shirt and my jean jacket... and there's a red spot on my knee... I was foolishly wearing some thin plaid pants today, out in the rain, so I'm suprised my leg isn't ripped to shredds... but I wasn't goin' that fast... It scratched up my mirror, but the most was it bent my left blinker back... That's a bit of a "edit profanity".. hafta try to bend it back, now... I guess I'll put some pix up of the blinker and my elbow... enjoy! Now, if only I had someone to kiss it and make it all better...

Sorry to hear, glad to see you are ok, yeah i had my encounters with people in suv and big trucks, but thank god nothing but scares so far. To straighten the barcket for the turn signal get a big adjustable wrench, adjusted so it fit the thickness of the bracket and then bent it back, good luck

Thank god for those pegs being there, otherwise the whole side of your scoot would be scraped up.
Glad to hear your fine.

Yeah, I don't have a good wrench, myself, so I'll ask my roommate, or get my bro to bring one up from home, this weekend...
Yeah, the worst pain hit me about an hour ago... I keep a good amount of keys in my left pocket, and naturally, that's what I landed on... so, my leg, right there where the pocket is, is sore as hell! Oh, well.
I guess the footpegs were a good idea, though... and that blinker is tough as hell... Ha, ha. I still love the rain, though!

Well, I continued to ride her the same I do everyday...
Unforutnately, my bro forgot to bring somethin' to bend the blinker back out, so now I need to scrounge around the locals and see what I can find...
Kinda makes you feel like a badass, a few days after the fact, ha, ha.

sorry about that, but youve got some serious pussy wounds.. ;D this is from my scooter at 35mph.. it continues up my back, shoulders, and onto my arm. WARNING: if you cant watch surgery on TLC, turn around now and find another post to read. about 30 minutes after it happened... www.hilineauto.com/rash.jpg3 weeks.. www.hilineauto.com/rash2.jpg2 months.. www.hilineauto.com/rash3.jpgI was taking a huge sweeping corner that is about 1/4 mile from start to finish, downhill at about 40-45mph. midway around, I heard a huge pop.. the tube popped and caused the rear tire to go flat and the bike lowsided. didnt help that the pavement temp was into the triple digits... it burned pretty bad. I found a 4" slice down the seam of the tube... I had just installed it about two weeks prior, and it was a mfg defect.

about that blinker, why cant you just grab and pull it out? ive done that several times on my dirtbike.. works like a charm. those brackets usually arent very strong.

What were you wearing, Car54? I mean, I had just started from stop when I wrecked, I was mucho lucky-o... I haven't really tried just pulling... for one, I'm lazy... and the other, I've got really weak girly hands.... Now that I'm back in town, and forgot to grab anything from home, I guess I'll mess around with it and see what I can do.

I have one One day I'll sell it and get rich.... maybe not. You should wear at least some good pants. What tube popped? What were you riding? Anyway you shouldn't slam people on the forum we are all friends here.

Ah, it's all in good fun, I didn't take no offense... That was only injury that looked half bad... on mine... But I wasn't goin' fast and I was wearin' lots of clothes...
The worst was at my hip, since I landed on my keys, and I keep a lot of keys in my pocket... it hurt to walk for days... but just two little yellow bruises were all you could see...
I used a good amount of brute strenght, yesterday, and I pulled the blinker somewhat straight... There's no way I can get it perfect with just my hands, but at least it doesn't look like it's cowering, anymore...

I was in standard scooter riding gear... a tshirt and shorts. I have been riding motorcycles of all kinds for years, and this was my first time going down (other than dirtbike wrecks in mud and dirt, which happen all the time)
I was riding my 2000 Elite50.. somewhat modified. the tube in the rear tire blew, causing the tire to roll right off the rim, and me to roll (or slide) right down the street.
its a good thing we dont remember pain.. I would never ride again. the worst part was when a dressing would fall off while sleeping and the scab would stick to the sheets... mmmmm, peeling.

I'm glad it's never happened and hope it never does ;D I know what you mean about sticking to the sheets. I got off in the dirt once at high speed. My leg was sucked in by the rear wheel and it wore a large hole in my leg. I needed a skin graft but I'm not too keen about using a dead guy's skin. Long story short, it took over 4 months for anything like a scab to get going. I wish that New Skin stuff worked on big wounds.

I dropped mine with the exact same results; bent turn signal, scratched mirror. Six days after i got it some girl pulls out 20ft in front of me and stops. I was wearing armor so i didn't get too scratched up but my ruck had the same injuries.

Boy, this is a pretty old thread. Started October of '04, I hadn't had the girl but a little over a month. One thing I like, though, is that through the smiley's getting changed up, it now looks like I'm applauding the "edit profanity" who cut me off. That kinda makes me laugh.

Yeah, I saw the miles and dates, but figured it was "educational" for any "newbie" riders that just got their Ruckus and figured shorts & T-shirt was good enough.......sometimes it's good when someone brings the old threads back up to the front page............ ;D
