I got on the freeway today on the Rebel. I plan on taking the drivers part of my test on Friday, so I had to practice. My boyfriend followed me and shot these photos! How fun! I don't think I like going that fast, I got blown around a lot, but it was still lots of fun. Me getting on the freeway (I even used my turn signal ;D) Me on the freeway

I'll probably end up gettin' a motorcycle eventually...
It's cool, cause in NC, you pass the written test, and have your driver's liscense, you can ride it like a year (san passengers) before you take the ridin' test...

That's how it should be. I'm driving illegally because I have to practice ... or pay $150 to take a 2 day course.

Having gone a similar path from scooters to bigger bikes, learn from a mistake I had made - don't sell or forget the love of scooterdom!!!

Ride safe, Lolakey! I'm sure you'll do just fine on your test. I can't get over the cost of beginner courses these days, they are out of control! I took the beginner's course in '92 and it only cost $35! I've always been a huge fan of both the beginner and advanced courses, but do understand the route you're taking. It's especially difficult for college aged and younger. An interesting note, I've been riding motorcycles since taking the course sooo long ago, discovered scooters in'02 and I enjoy them as much if not a smidge more. db50

If you drive without a license, doesnt that make your insurance null and void if you get into an accident? In canada it does as we all must have insurance to drive any vehicle here.

Having gone a similar path from scooters to bigger bikes, learn from a mistake I had made - don't sell or forget the love of scooterdom!!! How could I ever stop loving my Ruckus? I plan on having him forever and ever. I'll be that crazy old woman in town with the old scooter that everyone talks about ... and I'm sure I'll have lots of cats too. I ended up having to go to the dentist on Thursday night and was too out of it (pain killers) to take the test. I'll take it this week and let everyone know how wonderfully I did! I'm sure my insurance would be null and void if I were to get in an accident (WHICH I WON'T! knock on wood). I am very careful and I watch out for the other not so careful drivers. I'm only driving when it's nice out and not during high traffic times etc.

Wow - I didn't know scooter drivers were so insecure. I'm not leaving the wonderful world of Ruckuses. I love my Ruckus. I'm just very proud of myself for getting my license.
