I weight 260 and the rear shock bodems out real easy which shock should I get.290 or the 315 and are they adjustable. I also bough a water bottle holder at a local bike store and it is great it holds regular soda bottles and gatorade bottles.

I have the same question/weight issue, so I'm bookmarkin this thread. My other issue is that my 90# daughter will be still riding it most of the time so it can't ride like a log wagon with a shock to stiff. In other news, her kickstand came in from battlescooter in just a few days...thanks Pretty heavy duty feeling

Thanks for the nice kickstand picture. I'm trying to find one off an older scooter so that pic is helpful. Regarding the shock. I weight 165lbs and I find the stock length showa shock to be barely stiff enough with the preload maxed out. It generally works very well but on larger hits I wish I had a stiffer one. If you weigh anymore than 165lbs I'd say go up one size. Currently I am sagging about 50% of the travel which is a bit much.
Did you have to remove the center stand to mount the kick stand?

Nothing to remove, I put it on about 20 minutes ago,it only took 2 minutes to install. It goes in the frame gusset right in front of the centerstand on the left side. There is a 3/4 inch (approx) hole there that it bolts too. Thats why the nut has a funny looking bolt/head that comes with it. It fills up the hole and has a tang that keeps it from spinning inside the frame. I'll send a installed pic latter when I get the time. BTW thanks for the photobucket info a few days back Dan, Works great! Chuck

Great pics. I didn't realize it mounted there. I thought it attached the skid plate underneath somehow. Those pics were very informative. However it might be a good idea to start a new thread and repost all that stuff as we are getting pretty off topic.
Is that the short or regular kickstand and what's your opinion of the length? It looks like the regular model.

It's the regular length. Gives it a nice lean too. I don't know how far the shorty would lean it over. Chuck

That's my next purchase I want that kick stand thanks for the pictures. I got a email about the shock and they said just to get 260 shock which is better then the stock shock. i ordered the chrome shock which is 10mm longer but $40.00 cheaper so I got three tshrits and nocar stickers. Will post pictures when I get the stuff.

I'm a two hundred pound new owner and thought the slamming frame was part of the ride until I began reading this site: after a hundred and fifty miles, one oil change, three hundred dollars worth of tools (that torque wrench!!), one Showa 260mm standard shock thanks to Jason at BSS (fast and efficient business), I'm slipping along these mean streets as though in a dream. Get the shock, whoever you are. It makes all the difference. It took me an hour to install it because I like the zen of it, the click of the rachets and the knowledge of what could happen if you make a mistake, and I set my 260mm one notch from the top wearing leather gloves for traction -- no problem. Thank you all!
