I got the piece that was broken and the guy filed the shaft perfectly. Everything went together exactly and all the wiring on the CDI is correct.
I now get good acceleration but I do not get as good top speed, although better than last time I tried it, as I am doing about 35 and used to do 37.
I am currently using three 5.5g and three 6g weights in the new Daytona variator.
Any suggestions? I have not changed the clutch springs.

Glad you got it back together fast and to expensive. Now that you have the practice, replace your stock variator with the weights that gave you top speed. At this point you will know any change is due to the CDI. Might be time to open up the intake and rejet. It may also be time to consider a tach to help you figure out what's goin on. There is a limit to how much time and money we spend on our Rucki. Just don't see anybody around her willing to admit it. You just might be a Ruckaholic!!!

Took it out for a spin and got pretty good acceleration...unfortunately I didn't time myself before. And actually got a little better top speed on a tried and true section of road, 39.
So I'm thinking I should put in heavier weights and then off set that by changing out the clutch springs in order to keep the acceleration up.
What do you think?

What do you think? -I try not to, hurts too much. Your using the recomended weights, should be the best for accel & top speed. My experience so far that set up isn't quite as quick as the stocker w/all 6s but my top speed seems about the same. RPM was higher with stock variator @ the same speed so if I can tweak a little more rpm I should be going faster than before. Ouch, that hurt. Me thinks, you need to get a bit more air and gas mixing for the power to get over 8K RPM and across the 40mph line.
