I just purchased a used Ruckus with 800 miles on it. I notice that the power train shutters when applying throttle from take off. Just shutters for a moment, then as the rev's build it smooths out. Is this normal? If not, any ideas of what to look at. Is it possible for the varator weights to stick and cause an imbalance for a moment? I've owned 45+ motorcycles and this is the first with an autoclutch. BTW... this thing is a kick in the pants to ride. Every time I spark this thing up, I can't help from giggling. West

I don't know if you're doing this or not, but you must, absolutely must, let these scooters warm up. When it's cold out, like now, I'll start my scooter up 15 min. before and just let it run. Get that thing hot before you hop on it. I bet that is your problem.

It could be something as silly as old gas, i would recommend riding it until the low gas light comes on and then refill it with fresh gas, or maybe whoever own it before you did some work in the air filter area and it just leaning out a little on snap open throttle in wich case you would need to shim the neddle, hope that helps.

Thanks for the feedback. It does seem to shudder less when it gets fully warmed up. The bike appears to be in stock form... except for the ugly wood storage box the previous owner built under the seat. That has been rememdied...I built a new one from black flexible foam board... looks nice I think.
Ride safe, West
