I am removing my PAIR valve filter. I got some vacuum plugs to put in the PAIR check valve opening. There is still a tiny, narrow vacuum hose that connects to the intake manifold. Do I plug that opening too after i disconnect that hose?

What's the PAIR valve filter and what's the benefit of removing it ?

The pair valve is an enviromental thingy that adds more air to your motor to give it cleaner exhaust or something. It takes air in and therefore needs to be filtered. Apparently it can be removed or plugged with no noticable difference and therefore leave me with two instead of three filters and two less hoses.

PAIR stands for Pulse Air Injection Reburning the idea being of injecting fresh air into the exhaust to burn any remaining fuel wich was not burnt in the combustion chamber, the only advance i see of removing it, is to remove the fear of the reed valve not sealing and having exhaust gases going back into the intake making for a low oxigen intake air and therefore a missing condition or rough running engine. But yes, you need to plug the vacuum source in the intake or you will have a vacuum leak. And you do not need to plug the connection at the valve.

I'm thinking he is removing the whole system. You don't really need to plug the flapper valve but your scoot will be quieter Don't argue over the "PAR" "PAIR" nonsense, it's all good. It's like "muffler" "silencer". I may have started it by saying PAR on Battlescooter because I'm lazy Honda says "PAIR" The reason I toss it is because it's extra junk to mess with and look at.

Why would you plug instead of filter the hose coming out the front and top of the Gen 1 Ruckus engine? Aren't they known for having crankcase and bearings going bad due to contaminated oil from this poor PAIR design? If it's plugged, it would seem there would be no ventilation at all which would accelerate the oil contamination and cause the crankcase bearings to prematurely fail.
