I've noticed that everyone seems to be playing with the roller weights in order to alter their acceleration. If someone could post where they are buying these that would be very helpful. As well a bit has been said about the availability of CDI boxes by Daytona and someother company (Kitasu??? sp). Can you order these through your local dealer as well or do you have to order them on the internet. Finally if someone who has installed a CDI could post and explain the differences it made that would be awesome. Thanks

If you can't get roller weights locally can order them several places. I like "Moped Hospital" (see link on battlescooter.com links page) I called in the morning and they shipped them that afternoon. They are great to work with. frosty

About the cdi boxes so far it really didn't do much for performance on a stock scooter except allow the engine to rev higher . Seems like to take advantage of the cdi box other mods need to be done. Also a side note this is what I have found out with the cdi box , using slightly higher octane rating fuel seems to help, i went from 87 to 91 but this is what i figured out so it may not apply to everyone who does this mod.

Should have a #80 and #82 main jet here tomorrow. May try to dremel out the exhaust port a bit. I'll let you all know.

Hey Frosty, what carb uses our (thread) size jets? I had to order the same size and use a drill bit to get the size I need. It would be easier if a full set was already made to use.

Our carb is Honda part #nvkoog. But I just went into the Honda dealer and had them order the jets I wanted(about $5.00 each) and they said about 4-5 days. Funny, they counldn't look up the carb by part number they had to look up the ruckus, click on the carb, then click on the main jet and then they got a selection of available jets. Don't know the thread size, haven't got it yet. I want to change because as I do some little tuning things to it I don't want it to lean out and run hot. frosty

Cool ;D The dealer didn't have jets when I was looking. That's great news! No more drilling. The jets in the Ruckus are different than anything anyone has seen. I live in a place with tons of bikes and bike shops. I went to every one and showed them the jet only to have them say "what's that from". The closest I could find was a Harley jet I'll have to stop by the dealer and have a look see. Thanks for the great info!!!!!!!!!!!

MORE ON MAIN JETS: To order a diferent main jet, if your dealer has a problem, look up a stock main jet part number. It will end in 75 the size of the stock jet. Change the 75 to the size of the jet you want and that is it's part number. frosty

What does the jetting even look like? Does anyone have an example pic of one (not neccesarily a ruckus)

Scrib, Go to Battlescooter.com and click on links, click on Tokyo Parts link, click on the Ruckus/Zoomer picture in the left frame click on intake. On the top right of the page is a set of main jets for the serious tuner. I shows a pic of one.
Main jets are important in 4 cycles and critical in 2 cycles. To small a main jet can cause your engine to run lean. A lean mixture burns hoter than a rich one and can damage the engine. It's best to up-size the main jet with any performance mod, even a variator change. It can also give you a little more umph... for 5 measily bucks. frosty

You can also go to the links page on battlescooter and then Ron Ayers. You can see exploded views of all the parts on the Ruckus ;D. Zoomania also has a bunch of real pictures of the carb and jets in the "custom" section.

Hey on the jets. If you guys can wait I will have main jet kits on the battlescooter store. The kits have 5 or 6 main jets and will cost about the same as 2 jets from the dealer. Oh and come in a little plastic partitioned box ;D
