Has anyone found or fabricated a rear rack and saddlebag mounts for a Ruckus? Touring in a backpack sucks. Rocky

Yes I certanly am. Actually that was my plan if I couldn't find anything. If I fabricated my own, I planed to possibly include bosses (tabs for a machine screw like on a bike) for a bike pannier frame. That would alow me to add bike panniers if I needed more storage. Rocky

Check out Lolakey's and Bobalino's saddle bags from coolers and ammo boxes on both sides (do we have an archives?)

Another pair of saddlebags [boxs] was posted by db50. Used conduit pipe as mounts for some kind of boxes..plastic I think. Made me think about water-tight ammo boxes. Is there a way to search all of db50's posts, & only those??

I had this idea a while ago. Check out universal and generic leather saddle bags for harleys. They are kinda cheap for the durability you get. The universal models tie together for fitment on different bikes. I figured that I could untie the two bags, flip up my seat, feed one of the bags tie-flap between the seat and the frame, between the hinges for the seat. Then tie the two flaps together at the desired length leaving the second bag to hang over the helmet lock. Cut a hole in the second flap for the seat clip to lock onto the frame to finish it off. The bags are around $50 on ebay, and they come in lots of sizes shapes, no colors except black. Here's a link. Kinda average, I did not want to look for good example all night, but you can see where the bags untie, and the flap that will fit between the hinges. I'd thought huge apes and super gaudy bags would be bad-"edit profanity" in a "lets scoot to the bar" sort of way. Aslo an easy way to transport a cumbersome lock around. www.buywillieandmax.com/pd_sb230_braided.cfm

I have ammo boxes mounted on my ruck. used 2 u-bolts on each box, with the ubolt going around the frame. I had to cut little chunks out of my luggage floorboard to make room for the bolt. they're amazing. between my underseat storage and the two ammo box saddlebags, i have plenty of storage room to not need a backpack.

I found saddle bags on some Ruckus site that mount directly to the factory seat. (It's been a long night at the bar and am to lazy to look for the link! Sorry!) Found some ammo boxes at a local shop that would look pretty sweet too if I painted them flat black. They also sell a underseat backpack that fits perfectly under factory seat and has back straps. I think its like 80 bucks though.
