The Ruckus headlights can use standard 35/35, 45/45, 55/60(or 65)watt bulbs. This is a drop in mod.
Dandy dan said I am running 55/65 watt low/high beam headlights in my ruckus with no problems so far. They are quite a bit brighter. I do only have about 100km with the new bulbs so no guarentees. The bulbs do run noticable hotter
I also tried 55/60 watt bulbs. I had no problems with wiring but I was afraid the battery could not handle it. I switched back to 45/45 watt. They are still brighter than stock may be better for the electrical system. You can use true HID conversions on the Ruckus. They cost about $150 per side. It's 35 watt draw making close to 100 watts of light, per bulb!

HID's are awesome. I wish I could find a used set for decent price. As stated in the manual: Alternator output is 190Watts@5,000rpm
Although the output of the 150cc alternator is most likely higher, your limiting factor would be wire size feeding the increased wattage bulbs. My guess is 45 watts might be the maximum on the stock wiring harness. Do you know the size wire?

What...er are you a college boy . I'll have to check to wire size. The 55/65 ran with no wiring problems but the math didn't work out so I switched to 45/45. The 55/65 really didn't make more light. The Ruckus is in the new breed of machine. The wiring is only as big as it needs to be. If you add something be sure you know what you are doing or suffer...

The other side of switched power for the headlamps actually comes directly from the Engine Control Module. Amazing but true and have no idea why Honda wired it that way. Continuous overcurrent would probably end up cooking the ECM (or hopefully the fuse first). If someone planned to run more than 45 watts, the safest way would probably be through use of a relay with the main power leads going directly to the battery.
Alright enough headlamps......
