I just mounted some BMX bike pegs on part of the frame (there was already holes on both sides, right under the footboard at the front of the seat down by the gas tank. They are awesome, great to use when just cruising by yourself and now I can carry passengers without them having to prop one foot on the exhaust and hold the other up.
Also, I can stand on these and almost do a wheelie. A little practice and I think I will be able to do it!
Cheers
btw, I'll get pics up asap.

Those pegs look cool. Unfortunately that would reduce my width clearance too much.
My Ruckus is mainly an offroad little beast. Last weekend there was a HUGE tree down blocking the logging road (almost three feet in diameter). Someone had cut a notch in the tree and our Ruckai barely fit through scraping the sides of the floor board.
You really ride passengers??

I copied you. Picked up a couple of $20 foot pegs from the bike store, and a couple of bolts from Home Depot. It's almost like the holes in the frame were meant specifically for this purpose.
The only thing I'm worried about is forgetting they are there and snapping my ankle if I put my foot down while coming to a stop.
I'm surprised how comfy they are. I had wanted to mount them way forward so I could ride chopper style. But I think they will do fine where they are.

I like the look of the pegs, and those holes sure are tempting me... but I'm concerned about that messin' with my leaning in turns... I don't wanna hafta sacrifice speed...
Any thoughts on that?
Oh, and you people make me feel big... and I'm only 5'10, 170 lbs...

The only time you'll grind the pegs is when you make really sharp turns at slow speeds. At any speed above 30km/hr (20mph) you'd have to be pretty crazy to hit em. I've hit mine few times but never above 15mph. Also you do have a bit of play in how high you mount them. You can slide up and down maybe an inch until you really tighten the bolt on. One word of caution: if you mount em as high as they can go and get used to them that way then make sure you don't ride off any curbs etc. cuz your weight might cause them to slide down which would then reduce your turning angle capability without you knowing and could lead to a bit of a surprise

Well, I think sometime next week I might head on over to the bike store in town and see about gettin' some footpegs. I like the idea of 'em.

I got some pegs for my scoot to and love em. I bought the bmx trick riding pegs (freakin spensive!)These are made of a pretty heavy duty steel made not to wear out grinding on pavement. Then went to a boating shop and bought stainless steel nuts and bolts, then to the hardware shop and got cork washers (rubber would probably do too). End result, they never scrape on corners and I actually use em a lot for driving and less for passenger carrying. The stance now is more like riding a motorcycle and less like a scoot. ;D

WOW
my idea really caught on!!!
Mine are now black... I bought some black mongoose pegs from walmart
I also got two license plate lights and they are the exact same size as the end of the pegs.. popped right in and they flash with the left or right turn signal! I'll have to get some pics, they are pretty cool.
