-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No the heat range of the plug is perfect, if you look at the ground electrode you can see that is clean of deposits, the only deposits are on the welding area, so it is normal, The need for a colder plug would have been a gray ring around the top of the treaded, parts but in your case is black so i will leave it alone, the porcelain on the plug has two colors; white on the parts exposed to the exhaust valve, and tan on the parts exposed to the intake valve, the tan color is normal and is because of the additives added to the gasoline, i always want the porcelain to be that color all around as it will indicate the fuel was burned all the way around the plug, having it only color half way indicate there was not enough gas to cover the whole area, so i will go next up on the main jet, but only one up as you are very close. Thanks for the pics This is an area that is very confusing and maybe i should do a how to on how to read spark plugs, i explain it to people at work all the time and they have a hard time understand the difference between plug heat range and fuel mixture, maybe i will do some drawings over the weekend and post them so we can make this easier

I sure could use a nice write up....currently I just base my judgement on the overall average colour which is pretty crude.
