Gun Control is hitting what you aim at. #1 rule allways keep gun pointed in safe direction. #2 allways make sure that there is nothing infront or behind your target before pulling the trigger. Apparently our Vice Pres. has no gun control. The media is allready makeing excuses for our #2 man and blaming the victom for getting shot. I will never buy it ; IT IS 100% Cheney's fault, Dam if I would ever hunt with that idiot.

Were you there?? Have you ever hunted? I've been peppered often with bird shot while dove hunting. Never did I consider it intentional. Since you are 100% sure it was Uncle Dick's fault, you must have some secret information you are not revealing. Please share with us. What was really going on? Was it (dare I say it?) a conspiracy??? When did you know that it was 100% his fault and how long did you wait to tell us?? Why did you wait so long to tell us?? What is your real agenda here?!

Because he is who he is he wouldn't be on the "sauce"! One should not base what they think about him on their own personal experiance. From what I hear the Law was there and had the situation in control. It wasn't a big deal!

One needs to know this about hunting to help understand the hunting process.
When hunting, you must always know the positions of your fellow hunters. This is because when the shot presents it's self there is no time to do a double check of everyone's position. It's an ongoing awareness thing. When the target presents itself all attention is focused on acquiring the target and getting off the shot. The position of your fellow hunters is in the back of your mind so you will not swing into them, but their position is not the focus....the target is.
If the injured man suddenly decided to change his position at the same time The VP was acquiring his target it is extremely likely he didn't even see the man prior to taking the shot.

The lady who owned the ranch said the injured man was not in his correct position and that he was not with Cheney's group. Now he has suffered a heart attack. I hope he pulls thru but there was no fault just the usual media stilted roasting repartee

I'v been rained on with shot while dove hunting but not peppered. And we all knew beforehand it was a possibility when we set up circling a field that was a little to small.

It is no secret that in the eyes of the law, The shooter is always at fault. And I glad Cheney also realizes this fact and owned up to his negligence
