I was curious as i read so much about how mods are being interchanged and experimented with. My question is, does anybody have an anti-mod attitudes, and why? Is stock good enough for anyone? I want to know cause I thought that it would be ideal to have 2 rucki. One to mod and one to leave stock. Unfortunately, they don't grow on trees so I don't expect to get another one anytime soon. Fool for thoughts

I'm not so much as against modding, as much as I'm comfortable with the stock performance of my Ruckus, right now. All the mods I've been ineterested in are mostly cosmetic. Then again, it's well known that I'm jonesin' for a Big Ruckus, so maybe that has something to do with the fact I'm not worrying about Ryoko gettin' any faster.

Oh, and plus, I don't typically drive Ryoko over 30 so I can hang with moped laws and avoid gettin' a license.

Ryoko is my Ruckus' name. Oh, and another reason not to modify. I'm poor!

Rioko is his scooter name, and not everyone mod for looks, i am very happy with the look of a stock ruckus, the only sore point i find is the duck tail at the end of the rear fender, but i find the terminal speed too low, so my first mod was the variator spacer shave in order to get more top speed, so

The main thing I would do is maybe get a new shock, and I really like the frame brace with the foot pegs... that's about it. I mean, if I had decided to get a motocycle license, I might do some speed mods, but otherwise, I really like the scooter. the only things I've done are the side foot pegs and added red wings decals on the battery box sides, and the TypeR badge... oh, and let's not forget the Portuguese Horn Mod...

I don't mod mostly because I am too chicken "edit profanity" to start foolin around with mechanical stuff that I don't have a clue about. Although I could probably find someone to mod for me, it doesn't seem like there are a lot of people around here (Winnipeg, Canada) who know much about the big ruckus. I limit myself to adding accessories like a windshield, saddlebags, topbox. The closest I came to a mod is having to get a special mounting bracket made for the topbox!

I like to mod, its like Pimp my Ruckus, like both the look of custom and the speed of custom.

I have done alot of cosmetic mods and only a few performance mods; mostly because of warrenty issues. And yes I would love to have a second ruckus to compair it with, but I wouldn't leave the 2nd ruckus stock. I would play leap frog. First I would make my 2004 as fast as or faster than a new 2006 , then do to the 06 what made the 04 faster. It has taken me a while to get the same top speed with my new pod air filter. Acceleration has allways been better. Today I was thinking about building my own water pump dyno just so I could see which mods would fill a 55 gallon drum the quickest.

Customizing seems to be the reason for why people choose to mod..
Gadgetgirl, if you're afraid to modify, maybe you should get your local dealer to do it. They're certified Honda mechanics with the know. if you got the beans $$$ Money is always an issue. HHMMMMM, should I get the new variator or pay the electricity bill? In Winterpeg, you kinda need the heat on eh?

TWM, If it's speed you want, then why not get the big ruckus or a 2-stroker? I think you just like to play and learn along the way, huh?

It's Ryoko! Um, I think some people don't step up to a bigger engine so they can stay in a lower insurance bracket. I think Dan was talking about that, at one point, his insurance and licensing needs are less with the smaller scooter. And who wants a 2-stroke? Really.

Good point about insurance. It's the same reason I went the budget ruckus-fun route. ;D
Sorry to swear, I didn't mean to use profanity (2-stroke).

I had/have a 2 stroke, they are right on par with each other(w/ polini var on the ruck) up to 50k, then my dad's scoot pulls away(Got a Zuma II and a Vino). Ruckus sounds cooler, looks cooler, handles MUCH BETTER, more comfortable. And yes, i do like to play and learn along the way, im gonna take a motorcycle repair course at Sait sometime during the summer, when i can find time. Another reason for the scooter is it is incredibly cheap to customize. To just put nice rims on a car your looking at $1200 or so, I can get the rims, exhaust, and cam for that much! Thats why!

;DThat's cool that you're going to SAIT for motorcycle repair. All your experience will pay off. modding is cheaper that's true. Are you still upset about the bully at your work who asked you why you don't drive a car?
