So I just went and picked up a ruckus used its an 05 with 2900 miles mods, Yosh Cf Kn pod filter with another smaller pod filter next to it Daytona CDI Peloni variator not sure what weight as I haven't pulled it apart yet Jets when I bought it anytime you went WOT it would backfire and pop looking at the plug it was wet and dark so I figured to rich Pulled the MJ and its a 95 no number on the SJ so I assume stock? Also my friends stock 05 had me off the line and top speed. Tried a 85 today no backfires or poping and I could pull slightly away from my friends stock 05. I took it for a long run came home and checked the plug sort of a tan color with very little white. Also at WOT seems like it would lag for a bit then catch up felt like a powerband on a dirtbike.
Should I go to 90 or get a different SJ also what things should I change not knowing history of the scooter. I have a belt in my box of stock parts so im assuming it has a different one already.
any input would be awesome. My elevation is 2400 ft riding between 35-70F

You could try a larger SJ IF you are rich at idle. Chanito might argue that you should adjust your mixture a little. HAve you tried riding WOT and shutting down via the kill switch then checking your plug? It can change rapidly. This should tell you if yo're lean or rich at full throttle. So, check plug at idle, then midrange, then WOT, all with the kill switch. Write down the results and change the mixture/jetting accordingly.

ok so now I did it I put the 90 in and it was running great thought it was perfect long ride then pulled the plug didn't look to bad figured I was good my buddy took it out was fine. Then about an hour later I took it out and it was backfiring and missing really bad. Put my carb on the other bike with stock jets and same thing so I'm guessing something is off with my carb any ideas???

ok I sprayed both out as best I could and re installed same problem could it be something like my gas being dirty wouldn't make a lot of sense as it was running fine and I haven't put anymore in it.
What steps should I take to fully clean the carb?
Thanks again
