$36 a year full coverage in WA. State Farm If I had to pay $300 to cover my scooter I wouold have a coronary. My 400HP Truck only costs about $500 a yr and in Guinness it is the world's fastest pickup 142MPH. My Honda Valkyries was 1520cc's 100hp and it cost $235 a year. You guys in CA are getting the shaft. (but you have belt drive )

Hey Timberwolf, which insurance company do you use. I'm thinking of using Co-operators cause they quoted me $70.

here insurance companies don't like scooters (cause they get stolen often) so for me it's about 30 bucks more expensive than my mercedes. around 350$ a year, full coverage.

Everyone always quotes theses great prices on here but I've looked around a bit and I can't do better than 350$ Cdn. (300$ US) for very basic coverage. That's no theft and I get nothing if I crash it. All they'd ever do is fix the other guys car if I smack into him and i'd still have to pay the 500$ deductable. What are the odds of me causing 850$ damage to a car unless I died doing it...and I'd have to do that every year just to break even so the insurance company isn't profiting....I'm really gonna shop around when it's time to renew again. Like Jasper mine is classified a motorcycle so I need motorcycle plates and license but my insurance company is calling it a moped and still raping me.

The things my isuarance company takes into consideration are, engine size = 49.9cc to be exact. Years driving a motorcycle without a claim, total years driving a motorcycle.....and other accounts I might have with them.
So I'm 31, had a motorcycle Dl for 16ish years, never had a claim on a motorcycle crash... and I have both the scooter, CBR and the trooper all with the same insurance company.....
Now My 26 year old sister has a 2004 Yamaha BW she had a motorcycle Dl for around 8 years maybe and never had a claim on it, don't think her car is with the same company but her CBR is...she pays around 180 a year....
just to give more info...

Anyone got any tips or info on getting a Ruckus insured in/around Houston, TX? I'm a new owner (which means I'm also newly impoverished) and $300 is a scary sounding fee. So... does anyone know which insurance companies give the best rates in the Texas Oil Coast area?

Got my insurance. Bad rates here.. Progressive was the lowest with full coverage for just under $400/yr, and the second lowest was over $700. Ouch. >_o Even at $78/yr just the liability alone seems kinda pointless.. I mean, what logicly could a dinky scooter (didn't mean it.. battle scoot really, but still smaller than an SUV) do to a massive car?
Good news is I can zoom it around town & campus now and make all my cage-driving friends jealous of my agile ride! Mwahahaha! I should get a pizza delivery job. lol

''edit profanity", yeah, we're getting shafted!!!
