Reading all these interesting and entertaining posts reminds me of when I started doing my own motorcycle maintenance and repairs many years ago. The learning process is a journey and sometimes it is as much fun as riding. Sometimes it's very painful, just like riding can be if you'r unlucky or reckless.
There is a book which was written over 30 years ago which really speaks to the subject. It is "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" by Robert Pirsig. I'd like to think most of the gearheads who frequent this site would get something out of it. ;D
