Braved the elements today as we got a few sunbreaks from the constant monsoons here in the Pacific NW. I did about 10 miles and I swear the Ruckus likes cold air, got to 30mph in about 11 seconds and on small downhills I pegged the speedo. Then: I hit the nor' easter that brought the sun and the temp up out of the 30's, but the same wind knocked my forward momentum to a snail's 25mph. With the windchill it was probably about 25 degrees. I gave a neighbor my full face Shoei as I never could get used to it. Now I have to remember to use a scarf or a balaclava to cover my face, that's about all that got cold. Our sunset comes about 4:15 pm and then you need to exercise real care as you can encounter ice where the trees never let the road warm during the day. Ride safe and often.
