yup thats right. just yesterday i hit 10K. roughly 6000miles. I gotta say my ruckus has held up great. 1 burnt out brake light and 1 flat tire. The rest of the work was just me playing with stuff. Also the brakes are as strong as ever. I can still lock em up. No mechanical failures so far. The only weaknesses i can think of are: - battery is often dead, especially after cold nights - make sure you lube your kick start - change that rear shock, my new one is in the mail. - soup up the engine, at least get lighter roller weights. they're so cheap, easy and make a noticable difference.
Oh yeah. that's 10000km in just 6mths. I only got it in May.

Motorcycle batteries are notoriously short lived. Small alternators, big headlights, vibration and short rides all contribute to an early demise. There is one battery conditioner on the market that has saved me untold money on batteries. The trade name is Battery Tender. It is a float regulated charger. It brings the battery up to 14.2V and then floats the charge at a miniscule amount of amps keeping the battery up to snuff and never sulfates it or cooks out the electrolyte. No commercial interest in the product except it makes batteries live forever. It comes with two harnesses and all you do after your ride is just plug in a polarized little plug that is permanantly attached to the bike and forget it. If you want to know where to get them at a good price just IM me and I will give you the details.

AND if you watch MAW (Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse) they sometimes even have free shipping. The item in question is the Deltran Battender PLus 12 volt with two different harnesses and fresh in orig factory packaging.

- make sure you lube your kick start Why lube it and where do you lube it? I've only used it twice, just for fun. I'm talking about the kickstart, lol

after a bit of use it gets really stiff. it doesn't rebound back and its a pain to start if you gotta kick it back for every stroke. especially if its cold outside and takes a few trys.
with that said i haven't actually lubed mine. it got stiff pretty early on but i never used it much until recently cuz my battery beens suckin more. I imagine you could lube it with pretty well anything. just pop the varitor/clutch cover off and you'll see the inside of the kickstart. i'm just gonna through lube all in there and maybe some on the outside were it enters the cover.
i think it was abe who mentioned how this needed lube and maybe a cleaning. i just haven't got to it yet.

Mine started sticking at around 400 miles. It got to the point one day where I could put my 90kg on the kicker and have it not move at all. With a little lovin' I got it to kick over, but really..."edit profanity"! Anyways, keep it lubed, keep the ladies happy.

Tried the little Battery Tender and it didn't do the job of making a mcy battery last 7 years as the battery tender plus in 12v and still going strong as on my 1.5 litre honda. My Helix went 10yrs on one battery and it could still be going but I sold the scoot so I don't know.

Lolakey, I'm glad you got to that one before I did. I've been called many things, but a gentleman isn't one of them!!! I didn't mean the ladies. I was refering to the men, or boys in my case
