When we bought the Ruckus we bought (from the same guy) a Rebel. It is a 2005 with only a couple hundred miles, loaded with crap like the saddle bags, windshield and some other stuff. We got both the bikes for the price of one new (after all the other $$ they tack on). It's so pretty! The problem was I was too scared to drive it. The Ruckus, no problem…the Rebel big problem. I couldn’t quiet get the shifting down. Way different than a car! BUT - - - I’ve finally got it down and I love it. I thought that driving the Ruckus was a rush. Next….the neighbor’s Harley!

Yay, lolakey! I've had both the 250 and 450, still have the bigger one. Great little bikes to get familiar with the shifting thing, heck the Motorcycle Safety folks rely on'em. Built Honda tough. Ride on... db50

I can't shift either. Another reason why a bought a scooter. Tell me, how heavy is a Rebel? Just the idea of shifting and trying to lean into that beastie to turn, scares me! <-- I like this guy It weighs about 300 lbs. You can't lean as much when you go slow. It's different. In the moped you can lean when you go really slow. You actually have to use turn the wheel. That tooks some getting used to, but it's actually not that bad. I'm 5'6" 125 and I have no problems controlling it. Isn't she pretty?

Lolakey, don't jump onto a big bike too fast. They handle differently and you only weigh 125 so progress slowly and put a lot of safe and sane miles on the neet Rebel. I get from the Ruckus to my 100hp bike and have to seriously consider my mindset before I tweak the throttle. ;D

Agreed, you should practice in nieghborhoods until you get used to it. When I teach someone to ride I make'em ride slow, when they can do that perfect it's time to head out on the highway

Awe thanks guys for the concern. I haven't taken it off the backroads yet. Partly because I haven't taken the drivers part of the test. But I have to practice, so I've been taking the backroads. I should be ready next week. Don't worry ... I'm one of those almost too cautious people.
