Hi guys, (I posted this in some other forums too!)
I've been thinking about buying a Ruckus for a little while now, but I've also been extremely curious about the PS250 (Japanese site, Press Release) which in case you didn't know, is like a 250cc version of the Ruckus that's currently only being sold by Honda in Japan.
However, on the internet today, I came across a document that specifically mentioned a 2005 PS250 that will be marketed by Honda in the U.S., presumably soon.
The document was a request for an exemption from some law that says that motorcycles of a certain class have to have a pedal under the right foot that controls the brake. The PS250 instead, being an automatic shifting vehicle, has the rear brake control where the clutch is on other motorcycles. Like a bicycle, it's on the left handlebar.
Honda is basically asking for an exemption to be made for the PS250. The way you can help (and this has to happen soon) is that for a little while, the public is allowed to comment on any requests of this nature. I think it'd be great if there's anyone on this board who wants the PS250 to come to the U.S. to go to the government site and submit a comment that explains why the exemption should be allowed.
The main problem is that I just found this thing today, and the last day we can add comments is on September 1st, so we've gotta hurry.
Okay, so here's how you do it.
Go to this link. Hit the Continue button. On the page that follows, for the docket number, enter NHSTA-2004-18745. Fill in the rest of your information. Then, leave your comment. I suggest you read the document first, so that you're slightly informed about the issue. We've gotta get them this exemption!
