has anyone heard of a product called dial-a-jet? It allows you to go up in jet size up to 5 sizes with, you guessed it, a click of a dial. We have been using these systems on the drag snowmobiles and harleys for years but they are offering a scooter specific system now. Thes actually work and offers a margin of dont-have-to-remove-the-carb tuning. see attached link for a reveiw. www.thunderproducts.com/scooter_rider_mag_dial_a_jet.htm

Over at totalruckus.com the Big Ruckus riders are using something similar. I don't think anyone's tried it on the little Ruckus yet. We're eagerly awaiting your results:-)

Is it a way to dial it in and run it a while and when you get it where it's best then get the corresponding jets. Maybe save the dial jet for next mods.

Seems like it is worth the try, i think i will get one and install it in katrina but it appears is a permanent job, it provide you with and extra adjustable main jet,

I was thinking about doing something like the 'TPI' ventilator deal to our airboxes - by drilling holes in the airbox that could be covered up by adjusting some kind of cover (like the lid on a grated parmesan cheese container, where you dial the lid and it covers or uncovers the holes so you can get your cheese out). Jettings not that difficult on our scoots, doesn't take that long. Getting the air side right has been an issue for me though... I'd be interested to hear if/when someone tries the dial-a-jet...

it sounds like to me it will only correct your problem if your running lean. so if your running rich, you STILL have to re-jet it, then enrichen it with the snake oil. it sounds like it would do it though. maybe if you needed to find a spot in between jets?

Dial-a-jet is really only made for 2-stroke engines. I had a pair of dial-a-jets on my Zink, but it had a twin-carb 2-stroke engine, not a 4-stroke like the Ruckus. You are correct that it is a fuel enrichment device, but the whole point is that you basically jet the carb for whatever the leanest is that you plan to need in your geographic location, then you have 5 levels of enrichment with the dial-a-jet rather than having to re-jet the carb. Still, fact remains it was designed around the unique backflow you get resonating through the carb of a 2-stroke motor, and that just isn't present on a 4-stroke. It may work, but probably not quite as well as they work on 2-strokes.
