I bought the ruckus manual to learn timing and it does not contain that information. Can someone help me out? I am ready to start putting my engine back together but dont know how to get this done correctly.

To reset the timing you want to raise the cam chain tensioner so that it isn't messing you up. I find if you use a small flat bladed screwdriver and raise it up all the way, there is enough 'stickyness' to hold it there. Anyways, raise the tensioner and then you need to line up the mark on the cam gear at the same time you line up the mark on the flywheel. This info is in the service manual so take a closer look. The manual has pictures so it's way easier to understand.
If you don't feel like looking it up, the flywheel has marks on the side including the letter 'T'. You want to line up the T with the arrow on the case and with that lined up, you line up the cam gear. Then let out the chain tensioner and double check that all the marks are still lined up. It's kinda hard/awkward to do so you might be off by a tooth on the cam gear the first time you do it. Take your time and have a look at the pictures in the service manual and you'll be fine.
