My husband needs help getting to his gas filter he wants to check it out because he is losing speed. Thank you.

To get access to this part of the scooter you're going to need to remove the floorboard (8 bolts and 2 screws) but before you do that you need to remove the seat frame (6 bolts) and the front plastic cover (6 screws). With all that stuff removed, right behind the gas tank is the fuel filter. There's a black plastic cover that shields the fuel filter and this will click open if you pull on it. I'm not sure how the official way to do it is but basically just yank the hoses off each end of the old filter and toss it and plug the new one in. Then reassemble it. To view a diagram of the fuel filter (or other parts of the Ruckus) go to www.RonAyers.com and then in the left menu click on 'OEM Parts' and then 'Online Microfiche'. Then click on 'Honda' and then 'NPS50'. Then Choose the 2005 NPS50 and you'll be looking a list of the different areas of the Ruckus. To see the fuel filter click on the 'Fuel Tank' section. At the top, if you click on 'View As Thumbnails' it's easier to find the sections you are looking for.
