I'm using a fleet of three to six rukuses (ruki ?) as camera platforms on a video project. we will be shooting slow runners in Long distance running event . I need better control of speed in the 5-12 mph range - don't need top speed at all. Want to keep as quiet as possible. also want to beef up rear suspension as there is a camera operator (facing backwards) and a driver.
Ideas?

BTW
The throttle control is OK but could be better when you load up the bike with a 400lb load. when going slow (4-8 mph) It tends to find its own comfortable speeds - and is not easily adjusted to match the exact speed of a jogger. Not impossible but not easy. When you need to accelerate just a little it tends to downshift and accelerate too much - when you try to correct by easing off the throttle it tends to upshift and deccelerate too much.
A separate issue:
Also, we'll probably modify the seat frames beyond recognition. to accomodate our backward facing camera people, And we're going to want to resell five scooters after weve run them about 50 miles. So I figure they should have stock seat frames replaced. Know where I can get some? How much?

The best bet would be to take the clutch springs and stretch them so they become softer, this way the clutch will remain engaged at those slow speeds, these scooter do not have gears so it can not downshift or up-shift, is just the clutch engaging and disengaging

Maybe I could find a spring maker to just make a weak one for me. anyone know a spring maker?

Yeah, probably would be easier to take the springs out of the clutch and go to a hardware store and look for softer ones of similar size

Did you get my PM? I was interested in once you were done with these modified seat frames to send me a couple pics. I might take a couple of them off your hands just so i can carry a passenger when need be.

I wrote a big long post in your other thread in the 'performance ideas' section on this topic. If you can get the weaker springs that would be a great way to go but it might be really hard to find them unless you can get them from the same source IHAR did.
