ok so i did this also yesterday.....
Umm some people say it take like 30 minutes... Welll it took me like an hour and a half....
But i was not trying to mess anything up when doing it so i took extra time and made sure everything was right...
maybe had i been doing it in a shop instead of an apartment in NYC i would have had better tools and maybe metal drilling bits but i did not so it took a bit longer.......
but it is very easy to do and im happy with what i did so thats all taht matters..

How did you enlarge the hole without a metal drill bit? Did you hand file it out?

Did mine this weekend too. Love the way it looks now. I also cut off the surplus metal on the license plate holder (don't need to be registered in CT). I put DOT compliant reflective sickers where the plate would be.

Has anyone taken into consideration that if you relocate the signals to where those reflectors used to be AND accidentally lay it down ur signals are toast? cuz the location they are at doesnt look bad (my opinion of course) and they get scratched a bit (experience sadly) but they wont get demolished in their original location. maybe im just a n00b that needs some schooling.

I don't think those guys are planning to lay their scooters down.

The signals take it pretty hard in the stock location when you lay it down. The ears get bent over and the signals get scraped etc....I can't see it being much worse elsewhere.

when i layed mine down on its left side, the stock kick stand took most of the hit. it like ground the metal down to a flat surface. it scraped up the bottom side of the floorboard and just nicked the end of the handlebar. am i lucky that i didnt mess anything else up? or is it just cuz i was on an icy intersection? ....or did my leg being suck under the scooter and being dragged along help pad the scooter from the pavement?
well anyways..the handlebars stick out lots further than the signals. i know the handlebars do turn, but they will hit first and maybe save the signals. ..even if it does rip the signal off...its only 1 side.

So I moved the horn yesterday being as careful as I could not to mess anything up. Once the horn was moved and I started to close everything up I realized I have a blueish (maybe greenish) wire with a red plastic connector just sitting out not plugged into anything....can anyone tell me what this is and where its suppossed to go?

That is just a test connector, so the dealer techs can hook on a tach and reset your computer

Phew...I thought I had disconnected something important. Althought I wasn't too worried cuz everything still seemed to work once I closed everything up. Thanks chanito

Does anyone know what tool I need to take the old horn bracket off (the one on the outside of the battery box) I kind of bent it getting the horn off and now I notice it every time I get on. Any advice would be appreciated

I believe people elsewhere on the forums have talked about using an angle grinder to take the piece of, maybe even a dremel with the right cutting disc...

thanks, I actually just got some pliers and bent the bracket back and forth a few times and it snapped right off. Just needs a little touch up paint. Looks much better. This weekend I'm putting on my new daytona shock!

I just flipped mine upside down and you cant even really see it any more. its under neath the headlights now. I could understand if someone want it completely gone but I would recommend giving it a shot first considering it only takes 10 min or so
