I did the Chanito Driven face change and it sounded better on the top end but I don't have enough juice to get it going on the bottom. Basically it sits there and then slowly winds up until it finally grabs and goes...Any suggestions? Should I go with ligher weights?
I filed down the fixed driven face lip to 20.76mm and my spacer is at 36, I believe. So I'm pretty close to the difference of a 22mm lip and 35 spacer.
Thanks

Seems to me that you somehow got lube in the rollers, the rollers and the surfaces they ride in, should be free from any lube, but the spacer should have a light coat of lube, good bearing grease should do fine, so probably you need to take it apart again and make sure the rollers are clean and free of lube ;D By the way my ruckus have not seen 8k since i mod my variator, but top speed is past 40 mph, i need to get 1/2 a horsepower somehow and then i will flying

I took the modified driven face off and put the stock driven face back on (I have two) and the problem went away. I will check that they are free of lube though...

I am wondering if it has something to do with the washer that I put between the part of the variator that sits against the back of the case. I am going to put the washer on the other end of the shaft and see if that fixes the problem.
Chanito you put the washer on the innermost part of the shaft, didn't you?

Putting it on the outside didn't work. I did realize though that I was thinking incorrectly. I need to put more weight in to get the moveable driven face moved over more quickly. I'll go and try that and let you know how it works.

I put in more weight and it actually was worse. I put in lighter weights, avg. 4.33 and it did a lot better but still had a small wind-up in it. I don't remember this happening with the stock carb but I also notice a lot of bluish coloration on the clutch so I don't know if that is a problem. I checked the shoes and they look fine.
