Ok, here's what I'm thinking. I want to connect an LED and a toggle switch to my carburator cold start enrichment valve. Initially I thought it be cool to hook up an LED to the enrichment valve wire so that I could see when it comes on (courtesy of the CDI at a reported 7K). However, even better I thought would be to hook up a 3 postion toggle switch and a LED so that I could have complete control over the valve. With the 3 position toggle switch (mounted on the battery cover next to my green or blue LED of course) I could either set the valve open, closed or auto (CDI controlled). That way during cold days I could flick it permanently on so I'd run ok and during hot days were I'm a bit rich I could flick it off. Then during normal temperatures I'd leave it in auto so the CDI could do its magic. This seems like a great way to help the Ruckus adjust to minor temperature swings plus it would look super cool and when people ask what the switch is for I'd say "Oh that's my NOS system". I can probably figure it out but does anyone know which wire is for the cold enrichment valve? I think there's like 5 wires going to the carb. I mainly just posted this to see what people think of my idea. Can anyone see any potential problems? Also, (really important) any opinions on what colour my LED should be? I was thinking green because my brights have the blue light, the gas light is orange and the engine hot light is red. However I am a big fan of blue so I may still go blue...tough decisions. For the toggle switch I'd need to run a power wire to the valve to open it when the CDI isn't saying to. I'd also need a resistor to run the LED which I have. Your thoughts.....

I like the idea my be very helpfull to those who run in many extremes. I haven't had the chance to run when it has been too cold, didn't buy mine till late April. I too am a fan of blues , I wish I could get Ruckus graffics in blue instead of red or black. I think the blue would look sweet on my black Ruck. Let me know how this works out for you if it does.

I thought about useing this valve to add enrichment to a dry nos system. It would be neat to see when the cdi uses this valve, but once your doing the wireing you might as well have full control over it like you said with a three position switch. I would use any color you like that isn't being used already. Also I heard the red led called a over heat light and a overspeed light; which is it?

The computer control the ground, wich is a blue/black, there is two wires going into the cold enrichment valve wich is in the carburator, the other is black but that is power (go figure)

I'm having a hard time finding a 3 position toggle switch. I found on but it was 15$ and a huge industrial model. Once I get that and a LED I'll be home free.

Wow, they have everything there. How do your order? There's no way they'd ship me one switch.

yeah, they would actually. However, expect a small order penalty fee...

Newfie speed sport...err, I mean Canadian Tire, usually has 3 way switches. I don't know how much variety they would have though.

Boat sump pump switchs are 3 way: on auto and off.

From the manual it looks like the SE valve is held closed by current. "with engine cold... black+ and blue/black- ..no voltage" and "warm ....black and blue/black ... battery voltage."

thx! I haven't done this mod yet but someday I will. I'm pretty busy with school but my last assignment is due today so I should have more free time soon.

I like your idea and plan on doing it too. The ruckus wireing has several quirks. The alarm I am trying to install won't flash the lights unless the key is turned to on. you can hear the blinker relay going with the key out but they don't flash. I am also going to install a switch for 4 way flashing. The anti-hijack button on the alarm remote blows the main fuse so it works but I'm sure that is not what they intended. The remote start works 1% of the time and blows the main fuse the rest. I got the alarm working and the LED blinks so my scoot is safe when I am within ear shot. But I will get all the features working eventually.

make sure you do your homework bout led's too. they require a resistor if used as a light b/c they dont really cause a load, so they act in the system as a dead short. they dont draw any power, though.

The LED came prewired to the alarm. It seems to do 99% of the alarms work people see it blinking and don't mess with and keep their children away. Freinds and family are a different story. Wireing in a blinking LED would be a whole lot easyer and cheaper than my ebay alarm and would save you from people who think its funny to set off your alarm instead of knocking at the door.
