I recently stripped out my fork mount..... 12mm bolts (x 4) that hold the forks to the steering stem. They seem to be rather weak as I have read more than one post concerning this problem.
Here is how I fixed it so I can ride safe....
Well, I simply used a hex head bolt of the same pitch but 4mm longer AND of a stronger grade steel. It re-aligned the threads of my shredded steering tube....So far, so good. It holds great. If at any point it fails, I will update this post.
