How long should a set of tires last? Or how many miles? Dry rot not included. Also if one wears out faster than the other should I replace both?

 Rear should last between 8 to 10k miles, and the front twice that. I would replace the rear by itself and then both at the same time

Yeah just change the front one every 2nd time.
