Ok, so no, I'm not a Ruckus owner yet, but I did just recently get an oil analysis done on my Civic and figured since oil changes are a pretty big deal on the Ruckus, given it has no oil filter, has anyone ever done an oil analysis, or thought of doing it? Basically it costs $22.50 + $2-4 postage and they will do a full analysis on the oil and its contents. I thought about the Ruckus when noting the very low insolubles in my oil indicating the filter was still working well at the time of oil change. This might be a handy way to keep an eye on what's going on with your Ruckus oil. Granted, $25 is more than the oil change itself costs by a large margin, but if the information lets you extend your oil changes out, or let you know if you should do them more frequently, it might save you from the hassle of a siezed engine. Anyway, just curious if anyone has done it or thought of doing it. Here's what my Civic sample results looked like:

I only do something like that if i suspect a problem or as part of an engine autopsy (after major engine damage) most of the info is useless on a regular vehicle, i would have love to see alkalinity levels and the weight of the oil after so many miles

Yeah the weight would be cool to see since that's pretty much the only aspect I'd understand. Why don't you get a Ruck and send in some samples and let us know how it goes

Well I just got an offer from someone to buy my Zink... it's for $700 less than the asking price and about $2000 less than I just paid for it in November, but hey! With the Zink sold I'll actually have money and room for a Ruckus!

Oh! Yeah.. it's a little 550 pound autocross thingie with a 72 horsepower snowmobile engine. Fun for a while, but too much money, too much garage space, and not enough chances to drive it.
