Hi,i let a friend ride my scoot. He somehow knocked the air cleaner off but kept riding it.Do you think the problem would be within the carb sucking up dirt and clogging something up?It has spark but it looks like it is not getting gas.I unscrewed the drain plug on carb.It had maybe one drip. Thanks in advance

Your jets are probably all clogged up and who knows what the carb has ingested. Pull the carb and be prepared to sit down.

I pulled the carb and i was shooting fluid through one of the holes with the pan off and i felt some specs of grit in my palm, other than that it looked ok.I also disconnected the gas tank hoses.Should i have a flow of gas with the petcock attached but the hoses off ?also how can i check the petcock,it says create vacuum on the smaller line. Thanks for helping me

You're going to have to physically remove the pilot and main jet to see if those are clogged. Compressed air is what I use. You really need to buy a service manual so a lot of the guesswork can be replaced by methodical troubleshooting. They can be bought from battlescooterstore.com or helminc.com. I'm pretty sure your pilot jet is clogged.

I took off the air cleaner and put some gas in the pan of the carb then put my hand over the carb and it started till i took my hand off.Tomorrow i will put the air cleaner on and hope for the best.

That really sucks that your former friend sucked dirt in the carb. Hopefully the crap will clean it self out now that you got it running but even if it does run I'd still suggest running some carb cleaner through it so you get all of it out.
