i Just turned over the 4000 mile mark and I was wondering if anyone knew of anything maintenance related that needs to be done. Ive had three oil changes 1 every 1000 miles (so time again)
p.s. I cut my exhaust off a couple hundred miles ago just to make it loud and obnoxious are there any drawbacks? If so ill just weld it back on. It sounds awesome...neighbors hate it...low growl... untill the rev limiter kicks in then machine gun. No close calls anymore with cars that cant see me. Loud pipes save lives as they say.

its probably made your scoot slower, tho your senses will tell you otherwise.
if you want noise, best do it in a controlled manner, like a yoshi pipe or some other aftermarket system.
but please try not make scooters unpopular with people just because you want to be loud !
a proper aftermarket system is music to the ears, but a bad one is a bad advert for all of us.
as for maintenence, have the valve gaps checked as a precaution, and maybe change the plug too.
the owners manual should give you the service basics, failing that go to ebay and get a workshop manual for nps 50 .

I agree with Zoomer, check the valve gap, replace the air filter, and wait until next oil change to instal a new spark plug. Watch out for noise complain from the cops

My muffler broke off once so I can relate. I seemed faster off the line 0-5 mph but other than that it was just louder....not faster. In my opinion running with no muffler is way to loud and it sounds like crap...I get a headache almost instantly...it's such a harsh popping noise.

wow you....cut of you exhaust?! you might as well bend the pipe upwards and stick a larger diameter pipe on the end so it looks like the SanM exhaust or the RPM

It does sound like crap on anything above ten mph. I have a friend who works at a welding shop and hes going to fabricate a new aluminum exhaust pipe for it so well see how it sounds.

get it sorted !
you're missing out on performance and lovely growler!
the yoshi is a straight thru, but with a silencer (muffler)and its plenty loud, so try to have some sort of silencing,it''ll still sound great.
