"From the box" Into the engine: OH nOOOO!!!! Now, the mechanic can't tell which side is the exhaust side, because you erased the letters

Any mechanic worth his beans should know that the exhaust valves are smaller than the intake ones.

It sounds like you've got the idea. Chanito set out to make the biggest kit possible by over-boring the stock cylinder (which is non-removable) to accomodate a larger piston. As it turned out, 60cc was the biggest he could safely go because that thins the cylinder sleeve down to 1mm which is really as thin as you'd want to go.
The kit is $280 I believe which gets you the custom piston, a custom headgasket and a full set of gaskets, seals etc to rebuild your engine. You can read more on it at ChanitoMotor.com. To order one send Chanito a PM (private message) and that will get the ball rolling. There are still some kits left. The initial run of 24 sold out and now Chanito has had a second run made which is probably getting close to sold out I'd imagine (but I don't really know).
As for telling your machine shop what to do, the piston comes in a box with all the boring specs on it so you just bring the front half of your engine case in to the shop along with the piston in the box and they'll know what to do. FYI, the cylinder bore goes from about 37.8mm to 41mm.

by the way, speaking about boring and bringing a half of crankcase to the shop... i heard that both engine halves are mated to each other, thus, not interchangeable with other engine halves. at the same time, i remeber Timber selling his bored crankcase half.
so, how bad is it if i buy a front half of the crankcase, bore, and then assemble it with the original rear half?

Whoever said that the two halves are 'mated' together was likely referring to that the two halves of the case fit together and thus wouldn't be compatable with other engine halves from a different engine.I see no reason why you couldn't bore out the front half of a new crankcase and then re-assemble that with the back half of your current case. However, you should know that Honda only sells the crankcase halves as a set so you can't just buy the front half (I believe). On the online parts microfiches it always lists the crankcase halves as a set like this:

Is the second run of big bore pistons sold out? I heard it was but I'd like to hear it straight from the horses mouth.

So you're planning to order more then? Roughly how long will it be? Donny is wanting to big bore again (after his first engine blew when he ran it out of oil).

thank you for your answers, guys.
it's just, i bought a crankcase on ebay, and one the rear half, the surface is covered with some kind of cracks, so i just threw it away, and i am left with the front half. i was going to bore it out while still using the original engine, thus reducing "down" time.
besides, i remember Timber selling a bored-out front half...

Those are apparently just casting marks, go dig that sucker out of the trash Yep, bored out front halves will sell on TR pretty quick. Just do your spare, then do yours when it is done and sell it

Due to some people having problem with machining the headgasket surfaces right, i will start selling a thicker head gasket so it can tolerate rougher surface finishes, for those folks who are having a hard time with the racing headgaskets

Chanito, you're a nice guy. A lot of the people I've dealt with in the past would have just said "Do it better next time."
