2014 Honda Ruckus 100% Stock.
Hi all, i bought this ruckus a while back during the pandemic and because the DMV was closed I never was able to get it registered.
2 years later I finally decided to finish. Only thing is my battery is dead and I emptied the tank, cleaned i out, replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump, cleaned the carb and jets. So its bone dry...
Also battery is dead obviously, can i just take it to a shop and have it charged or do I need to buy a new battery?
I'm assuming you can't just fill the tank and start it. Any suggestions to get this going on first start when I first put gas in the tank?
Thanks

Hey brokejaw you can almost fill the tank and start it! You can take the battery to a shop and have it charged/tested for very little to no money depending on the shop and how nicely you ask, however you can get a new battery for about 50 bucks if you want to avoid trying your luck on an old battery. You only really need the battery to prime fuel to the carb. After that the stator feeds the electronics, so if you have some extra 1/8 or 5/32 fuel line and a syringe handy you can use that to prime the carb manually then just start kicking the kickstart and hope for the best. Alternatively, I've charged my Rucks battery with a battery charger meant for radio controlled toy batteries, and jumped it with an automotive battery I had laying around. (I had a power drain from an improperly installed CDI)
