Hello! New face in the Rucks crowd here. First post! **BOOM*
Ok, so have a '13 ruck that I have been tooling around with. After a few mods(airbox delete, up jet, Polini variator swap w/6g sliders, exhaust swap, CDI swap, ncy rear shock, plug upgrade and a few minor cosmetic mods, gotta ride in style!) I am rocking a 5.3sec 0-30 and 47mph tucked into the wind/ 50ish with it. Not bad at all for a 240lbs rider weight.
However, it is time to play a lil more! I will soon be installing a 20mm slide carb(taking time to tune, of course), quick draw throttle, bezeling the head intake and(this is where it gets crazy if I can make this function the way it does when imagining it!) making a a custom dual out of frame front facing air intake for the carb w/ custom stress bracket.
Let me elaborate for a sec... So, the idea is to build the intake body from perfectly fitted and shaped exhaust pipes. Once fabricated, adding adjustable flow velocity stacks on each pipe end before filter. I will use the spike filter body with a modified foam filter filament to fit within the spike. The pipes will sweep out from under the frame and hug the bike with the filter spikes facing forward. The idea is to increase airflow beyond any normal delete while having the ability to adjust the f/a mixture via the intake system it's self. In theory, this install will keep my bike ready for a wider range in claimant variation by adjusting the stacks and the mixture screw without having to rejet with the season change(for the most part. I live in Texas... we have summer, not dying summer and a couple weeks of winter). After assembled, tested and proven/ scrapped, powder coat the assembly, give the internals one last good clean for max flow/ min resistance and final mount.
So, there it is... My crazy idea. Thoughts? Questions? Concerns for my mental well being?
Below pic is as it stands(minus the stock tail light breakdown and refab i am working on)
Well, either way... I am happy with my RUCK!
CHEERS!
