Howzit going, could someone please enlighten me on the details/ operation & possible upgrade of the stock Ruckus headlight. First off, I don't have a Ruckus, but must admit it has strongly crossed my mind more than once to own one!
My interest in the headlight is to possibly adapt it to my 2014 Yamaha TW200. Just picked this bike up a couple of months ago and want to personalize it. I don't fancy the stock rectangular headlight. If I can pull this off, I think the Ruckus double headlight and bracket would give my bike that Baja look, that I am after.
(1) Do these lights both operate on/ off at the same time or are they designed as one dedicated to low beam and the other high? (2). Can the bulbs be swapped out for LEDs, using the same housing? (3). Could someone please give me the horizontal measurement , left headlight outside edge to right headlight edge. *any other information, suggestions are greatly appreciated, in helping me make this happen!
P.S. There is quite a big cult following for the Tdub. I don't think it comes as near as it is for the Ruckus or even the Grom. Wish we had the aftermarket support that you guys have, that would be awesome! In lieu of that, there is a lot of creative TW enthusiast on (tw200forum.com) that mix and match parts from other similar Yamaha models, I.e. Big bore/ stroker cranks, 5spd to 6spd conversions, etc. Thanks once again BIG time in advance! .....renny

Well ive already done i few diffrent designs fiddling with the headlights myself so i can tell you what ive learned. 1 headlights are just wired together nothing special theres a crimp clamp in the harness to split the wires. to be exact the thee wires. if you like i can post the wiring diagram i made for myself with wire codes later. so here's a few other pieces of info depending on how you go. the headlights and blinkers run off a 5 wire system. it is NEgative(for blinkers and headlight) + for normal headlight + for high beam + for right blinker and + for left blinker. that being said its all set for push pin quick disconnect so very easy to disconnect and build your new harness. in my personal method i plan to remove daytime running lights and and in a LED bar only to run in daytime and use FOGlights to replace headlights but only have them work when i flip to what would be high beams, in hopes drawing less power. you can replace your blinkers while you are at it to something smaller BUT remember if you replace them with LED blinkers you will also have to add a LED blinker module replacing the stock blinker module or you can add inline resistors. For the wiring diagram im sure its posted here if not feel free to ask and i will get info after work and post for you. though i did juast notice date. did you ever do this project?
